Numarine is proud to announce that the fit out of the construction of the first Numarine 32XP Explorer is proceeding vigorously in the Istanbul shipyard. This yacht was ordered by an experienced Numarine owner searching for a vessel customized to cater to his long cruises with his growing family.

The construction is right on schedule with the installation of technical systems, fit-out of the engine room, installation of sound-proofing materials and cabin ceiling, wall and floor structures. Delivery of the Numarine 32XP is scheduled for early June 2017, to be followed by the summer of cruising with her owner before the world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show in September 2017.

The all-new Numarine 32XP offers large volumes of internal living spaces onboard, with her steel hull construction and GRP superstructure allowing the yard and her owner to create unique layouts internally and customize external spaces, both of which have been penned by Can Yalman. The 32XP has a displacement of just under 300 GT, the maximum limit of the category.

Like in all Numarine's, the interiors of the 32XP have been fully customized so to reflect the owner’s preferences in terms of layout, design, fabrics and materials.

The main deck offers a generous cockpit that also provides for a comfortable stern sunpad area right behind the couch seating, for a total of 64 square meters of living space. An expansive salon of 48 square meters leads to a lobby area with a day head and a separate gym on the starboard side, and then to a full-beam forward master cabin with more than 30 square meters of space and separate his and hers bathrooms sharing a very generous central shower. Center-ship on the portside, a fully functional kitchen links to the salon via a pantry area and to the crew quarters below, connected to the external portside passage with a crew-dedicated entrance.

Below deck, the layout offers 2 VIP Cabins and 2 double cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms, and over 85 square meters of living space. Below deck forward, the 5 person crew quarters provide ideal spaces for the captain with his private cabin + ensuite, and 4 crew members in two doubles with ensuite. A crew kitchen with dinette area and a laundry room complete the crew area.

On the upper deck, an owner’s cabin with over 40 square meters of living space including a large walk-in closet and generous owner’s bathroom opens up via sliding doors to the large upper deck; this deck can fit in navigation a 9 meter RIB tender and two jet-skis with the help of the 2,5 Tons crane.

Forward of the wheelhouse, one can find a large couch area with bimini and cocktail table and two extensive sunpad areas. Total external space on the upper deck is 129 square meters.

Finally, the flybridge deck offers 60 square meters of entertainment space customized to include in the first unit 3 couches, a 12 persons dining table, two large sunpad areas a fully-fitted bar, 3 navigation seats and a central secondary helm station.

Performance wise the new Numarine 32XP, exploiting the yard's engineering capabilities together with naval architect Umberto Tagliavini, has a displacement hull that will give the yacht a top speed of 14 knots, a cruise speed of 12 knots, and a 3,000 Nm range at an economical speed of 9 knots.

In designing the 32XP, Numarine paid considerable attention, with the assistance of its long-standing partner Silent Line, to elimination and reduction of all noise and vibration sources, with the goal of surpassing RINA “Comfort Class” Certification and achieving comfort levels of a 50 meters in a 32 meters superyacht.

Repower Introduces Venice's First Fully Electric Water Taxi Lucietta
Swiss energy company Repower has unveiled Lucietta, Venice's first fully electric water taxi, marking a significant advancement in sustainable marine transportation for the historic city. The 9.3-meter vessel, designed by Nauta Design and built by Murano's Cantiere Serenella shipyard, debuted at the Venice Boat Show and will serve during the 2025 Venice Film Festival before entering regular service.Constructed using a combination of traditional Venetian boatbuilding techniques and modern sustainable materials, Lucietta features a lightweight carbon fiber hull and incorporates recycled Murano glass elements developed by local startup Rehub. The construction process maintained Venice's strict dimensional constraints for canal navigation while implementing contemporary electric propulsion technology. The vessel is powered by a 200kW electric motor with a 180 kWh battery system specifically optimized for Venice's operating conditions. Performance specifications include a top speed of 30 knots (55.5 km/h) and sufficient battery capacity for a full 8-hour workday at typical lagoon speeds of 7-20 km/h. Compared to conventional diesel water taxis, Lucietta completely eliminates direct emissions during operation and reduces energy consumption by approximately 60%.Environmental impact projections indicate each Lucietta water taxi will prevent about 12 tons of CO2 emissions annually while completely eliminating particulate matter emissions. The electric propulsion system also reduces noise pollution from 85 dB to 45 dB - an 85% decrease that significantly improves the acoustic environment of Venice's canals. Over its operational lifetime, the electric taxi is expected to have 30% lower maintenance costs than combustion engine models."Electric boating represents a crucial part of the sustainable mobility revolution," stated Fabio Bocchiola, CEO of Repower Italia, noting the European electric boating market is projected to reach $13 billion by 2030. The project builds on Repower's previous electric boat initiative that received a Compasso d'Oro honorable mention in 2020.Nauta Design's Massimo Gino explained the design process: "We studied original taxi designs and interviewed operators to create a modern electric version that respects Venice's strict dimensional constraints for canals and bridges." The collaboration with local artisans at Cantiere Serenella ensured the preservation of traditional Venetian craftsmanship while implementing sustainable technologies.Lucietta can accommodate up to 14 passengers and will initially serve during high-profile Venice events before expanding to regular water taxi service. The introduction coincides with Venice's increasing restrictions on combustion engine vessels in its sensitive lagoon ecosystem, positioning electric water transportation as a viable solution for the city's unique mobility challenges.Credits: Nauta Design
