Filippetti Yachts is proud to announce the construction of a new Filippetti Navetta 26, with the interior and exterior by Milan-based studio Hot Lab.

Giovanni Filippetti, CSO of Filippetti Yachts, said:
The customer had some very clear ideas about what characteristics he wanted in his boat. Together with Hot Lab, we worked closely with him to exceed all of the requests

In particular, the owner of the vessel wanted to be able to navigate throughout the year in the Northern Seas. Given that one of the hallmark features of the Filippetti Navetta Series is the abundance of natural light that illuminates the boat through large glass windows, it was critical that this design aspect be maintained. In order to achieve this and ensure comfort in the harshest of climates, special attention was given to the thermal insulation of the windows. This has been done through the use of double glazing, creating an insulated window formed by two separate pieces of glass combined with a gas filled space to reduce heat loss. Additional insulation with anti-vibration technology has also been used in the walls to ensure maximum comfort and quiet operation, even during night cruises. For comfort and additional convenience in consideration of the cold temperatures of Northern Europe, a KABOLA oil boiler system was installed to preheat the boat prior to boarding for increased comfort. This system allows the owner to remotely start the heating system through the use of a connected mobile device.

This experienced yachtsman wanted the ability to maneuver the boat without constant assistance of a professional crew. Filippetti has taken a series of measures to ensure that the boat can be handled independently, reducing operating costs and increasing on board privacy. Four remote command locations – two forward and two aft of the main deck, have been installed to facilitate anchorage maneuvers in addition to the main helm on the upper deck. Each station has been equipped with controls and displays required to have full control of the boat.  This Navetta has also been outfitted with a mobile station autopilot, making it possible to manage the boat remotely, even on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

The long range cruising ability of the Navetta 26 allows it to travel over 3,000 nautical miles without refueling. Combining this with large volumes of available storage on the main deck and fly bridge, the Navetta 26 makes long cruises worry-free and more enjoyable than ever before.

The upper deck houses the full beam wheelhouse, where the captain can safely maneuver the boat with a sweeping view, while the aft features a spacious outdoor area furnished with large sun beds and a dining table. A closed fly deck has been chosen for the configuration of this vessel, outfitted with a sliding door system that allows the space to open up to the outside.

The main deck is the heart of the boat. Off the cockpit, a comfortable outdoor seating area is set up with a coffee table, comfortable chairs, and easy access into the living room that is perfect for watching TV and enjoying good company on the semi-circular sofa. Moving forward is the starboard kitchen and on the left, a convenient bathroom. At the extreme bow, you’ll find an area that is entirely new for boats of this length: the dining room. This area has a spectacular view of the open sea, where you can enjoy a 180-degree view while you dine, thanks to the large windows that wrap around the perimeter of the boat, letting the light stream in from every angle. At the bow is an outdoor area with sofa chairs and two small tables, a perfect oasis to enjoy the pleasure of sailing.

The two sleeping areas in this Navetta, which can be accessed through a staircase located midship on the main deck, and the lower deck have two spacious cabins (Master and VIP) designed to comfortably accommodate four guests. This arrangement has been commissioned by the owner of the boat who decided to decrease the number of cabins on board (configurations typically have been either a 4 or 5 cabin layouts) in favor of more spaces. The expansive full beam master cabin is the owner’s suite providing plenty of private space. In standard configurations of the Navetta, the master suite had been located on the upper mid deck, however, the owner of this vessel has chosen to move the master suite to the lower deck, in order to create a dining room with a panoramic view.  Covering 25 m2, the suite consists of a sleeping area, hallway, and a spacious wardrobe with the addition of a dedicated walk-in closet and en suite bathroom. The large bathroom with an oversized shower has taken the place of an entire guest cabin in the typical configurations. The custom configuration of this space has also allowed the owner room to build a private gym area in the front, complete with professional Technogym fitness equipment and an entertainment system. Completing the cabin area is the VIP cabin with a private bathroom and spacious wardrobe. Both cabins are equipped with large rectangular windows that illuminate the entire room and provide stunning views of the seascape.

Farther aft with access from the main deck and completely separate from the other rooms is crew quarters set up for two people with a bathroom, small kitchen, and direct access to the engine room.

The Navetta also has a large garage which can accommodate a jet ski, tender, or other water toys.

The décor on board is a perfect balance between classic and modern, harmoniously incorporating both elegant and contemporary styles, resulting in a stylish and friendly atmosphere. The striking interior uses carefully selected materials and exclusive furnishing. The leathers, lacquered surfaces, and original fabrics in neutral tones combine with the warm characteristics of American walnut, creating a striking color contrast. In the bathrooms, exquisite marble has been chosen, including Eramosa and Navona travertine.

This Navetta 26 is equipped with twin MAN R6 engines 730 hp and features a double stabilization system, a pair of AB TRACK fins and a SEAKEEPER gyroscopic stabilizer to ensure the best results and smooth cruising.

Wallyrocket51 Hull Damaged in Pesaro Yard Accident
The second hull of the Wallyrocket51 racing yacht sustained damage after being knocked from its cradle during strong winds at Cantiere Rossini in Pesaro on the evening of 20 August.Images of the incident, showing the boat on its side with a broken mast, circulated online and led to speculation regarding their authenticity. Commentators questioned the extent of the damage and the setup of the cradle, with some suggesting a storm had caused the accident.Alfonso Postorino, director of Cantiere Rossini, confirmed the cause. “First of all we are glad that nobody was injured,” he said. “The boat fell down when hit by a strong wind, with gusts above 50 knots, that caused several serious damages all around the city of Pesaro.”Postorino explained that the yacht was resting on a cradle supplied by the owner and noted that high-performance sailing boats are particularly vulnerable when ashore. “These kind of high performance sailing boats are subject to this type of accident when they are ashore, due to their light weight compared to the windage surface,” he said, adding that no other yachts in the yard were damaged and the facility’s painting sheds were unaffected.Cantiere Rossini specialises in yacht refit services, including repainting, and has capacity for up to ten 50-metre yachts on hardstanding and 12 berths for yachts up to 55 metres. The Wallyrocket51 is the first pure racing yacht developed by Wally, launched in October 2024. With a length of 15.5 metres and displacement of 6.3 tonnes, it was designed with Botin Partners for competitive racing under IRC and ORC rules. The model incorporates features such as a trim tab to improve upwind lift and reduce drag.Ferretti Group completed its full acquisition of Wally in July 2025. The Wallyrocket51 was promoted as capable of outperforming TP52s and positioned as a potential benchmark in one-design racing.Technical partners for the project include APM (keel), Cariboni (hydraulic systems), Southern Spars (rigs), Future Fibre (standing rigging), Harken (deck hardware) and Gurit (composite materials).Credits: Ocean Racing

Finnish Boating Industry Shows Signs of Recovery After Downturn
Finland’s boating sector is showing signs of recovery after the decline that followed the pandemic, with registrations and used boat sales both increasing over the past year. As of July 2025, the national watercraft register listed 246,000 boats, an increase of 2,928 compared with the previous year. Of these, 214,000 were motorboats.According to the Finnish Marine Industries Federation (Finnboat), growth has been driven largely by the sale of previously unsold stock vessels, which do not appear in first registration statistics. “According to first registrations, the boating sector would appear to be at its lowest point this year. However, the sale of unsold stock boats has significantly boosted the total fleet size. These boats are not visible in the first registration statistics,” said Finnboat CEO Jarkko Pajusalo.Outboard-powered boats have led the growth, rising by more than 2,200 units. While first registrations of motorboats fell by 17 per cent, the total number of motorboats in the register rose by the same proportion. Pajusalo attributed this to the statistical definition of “new” boats as those built in the current or two previous years. He noted that the anomaly created by pandemic-era unsold boats is expected to resolve itself. The Helsinki In-Water Boat Show Uiva Flytande, held in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, drew nearly 11,000 visitors. Exhibitors reported cautious optimism among buyers, with strong interest in larger cruising yachts. Nine such yachts were on display, from builders including Lagoon, Hanse, Dehler, X-Yachts and Beneteau.Samuli Leisti of Ajola Yachts and Hansail said that 2025 is shaping up to be the strongest year in 15 years for his company, with several deals in progress and one new order signed. His brokerage firm Blue Ocean sold 80 used boats by August, exceeding last year’s total of 67. Antti Saarisalo, CEO of Ajola Yachts, also noted strong interest in sailing yachts, with onboard visits matching those of the larger Helsinki International Boat Show held in February.Manufacturers reported positive developments as well. Linex-Boat, builder of Nord Star yachts, highlighted international interest, with visitors from Estonia viewing the Nord Star 42+. Quarken Boats reported new export market openings and strong domestic activity, securing deals, arranging sea trials and issuing numerous offers during the event.Buster remained the leading brand in new motorboat registrations. According to Mercury Marine EMEA CEO Jussi Sepponen, the Finnish market is beginning to recover in line with European trends. “The marine industry often emerges from recessions later than other sectors. Now, however, it feels like we might even help pull the economy upward,” he said. The show also featured small-scale exhibitors, including sailmaker EfxSails, which presented sailmaking services and recycled sail products. “Sailmaking is a design profession, and part of the designer’s role is to understand the sailor’s true needs,” said EfxSails’s Matti Luhtala. The next Helsinki In-Water Boat Show Uiva Flytande will take place from 13 to 16 August 2026 in Lauttasaari. The Helsinki International Boat Show – Vene 26 Båt – will run from 6 to 15 February 2026 at Messukeskus, Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.Credits: Yacht Harbour Archive
