Lady Lena is a 52m luxury motor yacht. She was built by Sanlorenzo, who has a rich and long-established history in the yachting world, in 2020.

The Italian shipyard has recently announced the on-schedule delivery Lady Lena to her owner in La Spezia.

Lady Lena is known as a part Sanlorenzo’s award-winning 52Steel series and the Italian yard is responsible for her complete engineering package.

Antonio Santella, Sanlorenzo’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented:

We have built these units on spec as it is very important to give continuity. With this constant production, we manage to keep all workers busy. Because we keep the same workers involved in the same line of yachts, we naturally continue to improve the quality boat by boat

With a beam of 9.4 m and a draft of 2.65 m, she has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. This adds up to a gross tonnage of 499 tons.

The superyacht is powered by MTU engines of 1992 hp each giving her a maximum speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. Lady Lena's maximum range is estimated at 4000 nautical miles. The yacht was designed by Officina Italiana.

Her timeless, classic interiors can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins with 9 crew members waiting on their every need.

The happy owner said:

Since the first meeting with Sanlorenzo, I felt part of a family with a big heart and which is driven by the passion for its work. I believe these three values represent the real 'Made in Italy.'

The highlights of the superyacht contain a glass-bottomed swimming pool and a 94 square metre beach club.

Lady Lena will be available for charter with IYC from July.

46m Scintilla Maris Completes 11,000 Nautical Mile Shakedown Cruise
The 45.6-meter converted trawler Scintilla Maris has concluded a rigorous 10-month shakedown cruise covering 11,000 nautical miles across the North Atlantic. Owner Erik Vonk and his wife departed the Netherlands in April 2024, undertaking an improvised route through Scotland's Outer Hebrides, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, and North America before returning to the shipyard. The expedition tested the Vripack-designed yacht's performance in challenging conditions, including 6-meter swells. Vonk reported the vessel maintained operational comfort throughout, particularly noting the effectiveness of the heat recovery system during Arctic transits where exterior temperatures plummeted. The open bridge configuration allowed guests to participate in navigation during the 700-nautical-mile crossing to Newfoundland. The cruise included extended stops at remote locations, with the yacht often being the only visiting vessel in areas like Scotland's Rum Island and the Faroe Islands. Local communities frequently greeted the crew, with Vonk recalling particularly hospitable receptions in Icelandic fishing villages where stays were repeatedly extended.Following successful completion of the transatlantic voyage, Scintilla Maris returned to the Netherlands to prepare for its first commercial charter season in Iceland. The yacht's conversion from industrial trawler to expedition vessel took 15 years, with Vonk emphasizing its dual capability for remote exploration and luxury accommodation."I spent 15 years perfecting a boat that takes you places where few other people go," Vonk stated. "Scintilla Maris combines battleship strength with the comfort and luxury of a boutique hotel." The shakedown cruise confirmed the vessel's ability to access isolated destinations while maintaining premium onboard facilities, including a country-style galley and skylit interior spaces.Credits: Vripack
