Vripack Yacht Design’s newly revealed interior for the Moonen 122 Martinique signals the fourth successful collaboration between the esteemed Dutch studios. Combining Vripack’s creative ingenuity with Moonen’s craftsmanship, the reimagined interior aims to elevate the onboard experience, reflecting the essence of Dutch design principles.

Unveiled at the 2025 Palm Beach International Boat Show, Vripack’s fresh interpretation injects a refined yet playful character into the Moonen Martinique, showcasing the harmonious partnership between the two brands.

"We were given the freedom to propose something entirely original for this established series yacht, and we embraced it as an opportunity to celebrate our shared Dutch heritage," remarks Marnix Hoekstra, Vripack's co-creative director. "It's not just about designing a beautiful space; it's about creating an experience rooted in Dutch values—craftsmanship, innovation, and authenticity."

Matthew and Louise Baxter, owners of Moonen Yachts, share similar enthusiasm: "Working alongside Marnix and his team allowed us to merge Vripack's world-class design with our exacting manufacturing standards. We're confident that the combination of their vision and our expertise results in an interior that is both visually stunning and functionally superior."

The interior relies on a palette of three key materials: wood, leather, and brass, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. Warm mid-century color tones of light taupe and grey are accentuated by a satin lacquer finish, while deep walnut furniture adds a touch of sophistication. Antique bronze mirrors in the main salon ceiling evoke the artistic brilliance of 17th-century Dutch masters, amplifying the sense of space and light.

Incorporating the iconic colors of Dutch Delftware, the dining room features moody blue chairs and a striking hand-sketched mural depicting scenes reminiscent of the Netherlands’ landscapes. The deliberate "ripped edge" of the mural nods to the whimsical charm of Dutch design, encouraging guests to engage imaginatively with the space.

The main deck lobby stands out with vibrant turquoise walls, mirrored ceilings, and antique bronze accents, setting the tone for the owner’s suite. Here, a repositioned king-sized bed faces aft, maximizing 180-degree sea views and creating a unique connection to the surrounding environment. This seemingly subtle adjustment transforms the suite into a sanctuary, ideal for relaxation and reflection.

Four additional guest cabins on the lower deck continue the theme of refined simplicity. Soft taupe leather wraps the beds, complemented by chunky Belvedere quartzite basins in the ensuites. Thoughtful touches, such as the VIP desks doubling as vanities and increased storage, cater to the needs of modern travelers.

The sky lounge, the social heart of the yacht, blends comfort and style. A bioethanol fireplace with a cream marble surround invites guests to linger, while full-height bi-fold doors blur the boundary between indoors and out. Framed TV screens display Monet-inspired artworks, while inset cabinets showcase personal treasures, adding warmth and personality.

Owner's stateroom

"This project felt less like a collaboration and more like a co-creation," notes Hoekstra. "Moonen’s carpentry division understands how to translate design ideas into tangible realities, and their attention to detail is unsurpassed. Their willingness to innovate allowed us to transform abstract inspirations into something tangible and beautiful."

The partnership between Vripack and Moonen exemplifies the collaborative spirit driving contemporary yacht design. Together, they’ve created an interior that celebrates Dutch courage, marrying boldness with refinement to produce a yacht that feels both timeless and modern.
