The first unit of the new Mangusta 165 REV line was launched in Viareggio on 25 July. The yacht was built in composite material at Overmarine’s Viareggio shipyard. The project was developed jointly by Overmarine’s Engineering Department, headed by engineer Nicola Onori, in collaboration with designer Igor Lobanov, who had already penciled the outer lines of the Mangusta 104 REV. The 50m yacht stands out for her aggressive profile featuring the rounded, curved shapes typical of Mangusta’s iconic style. Her slender, dynamic lines have drawn inspiration – as the designer explains – from 1930s sporty cars.
The fully customisable interiors have been designed by Overmarine’s technical department architects side by side with the owner’s team under the coordination of Sales Manager Nicolò Strocco, who oversaw the sale.
The superyacht features the full-beam, 92 sq. m master stateroom, which is located on the main deck, with large, floor-to-ceiling glazed surfaces integrated in the hull. More ceiling high windows can be found in the saloon, opening up toward the stern and on the sides, where two large fold-down balconies create a smooth continuum between this room and the outdoor areas.
The entire lower deck is dedicated to guests, who will find accommodation in four guest and one VIP cabins. At the stern, the aft door opens to reveal a beach club conceived as a fully-equipped lounge area by the sea. The tender garage is located on one side. The huge forward area is devoted to relaxation, and has a sunbathing area, comfy sofas, and an infinity pool.
Thanks to 4 Rolls Royce 2600 HP engines coupled with 4 Kongsberg-Kamewa waterjets Mangusta 165 REV can reach a maximum speed of 34 knots, noiselessly and without the slightest vibrations.
“I am proud to be celebrating the launch of this first unit of the Mangusta 165 REV together with her owner, his family, and the whole team who took part in her construction. I am convinced that today, with this launch, we are writing a new important page in the history of our shipyard”, said Maurizio Balducci, Overmarine Group CEO.
The Mangusta 165 REV will be on display at the forthcoming Monaco Yacht Show. The next unit available for sale will be ready for delivery in summer 2023.
Overmarine Group was founded in 1985 by the Balducci family. The shipyard builds open and displacement power superyachts under the Mangusta and Mangusta Oceanco brand names.
