The legendary superyacht Octopus has been sold. The 126m ground-breaking exploration vessel was delivered by Lurssen in 2003. Her exterior design was made by Espen Oeino and interior by Seattle based Jonathan Quinn Barnett.

She can accommodate 26 guests in 13 staterooms. Her amenities include a cinema and a recording studio with a specially designed floor to damp out noise and vibration. There is also a private observation lounge, a beach club and diving deck, pool, gym, and spa with a hammam and sauna.

Built to Ice-class 1A with a range of 12,500 nautical miles and capable of reaching a max speed of 19 knots, Octopus is still the world’s largest explorer superyacht. She is equipped with a helipad forward and a larger landing deck aft with an adjoining helicopter garage for two aircraft. She also has a float-in tender bag at her stern, a Pagoo submarine and a dive center.

In 2019 Octopus had a major refit at Blohm+Voss. Octopus was listed for sale by Fraser and Burgess and had a last known asking price of €235,000,000.
Now she has joined the Camper and Nicholsons charter fleet. Her new owner is committed to maintaining the expedition spirit she became renowned for. After an upcoming yard period, the yacht will be available for charter for the first time in her storied history. This will be an incredible opportunity for guests to experience her sense of adventure for themselves as she embarks on a two-year round-the-world tour from January 2022.
