Yesterday, the annual SATEC Convention started in Genoa, bringing together members of the Italian Marine Industry Association, institutions, press, and opinion leaders. The balance sheet for the financial year 2022 was approved, revealing a strong and growing association as the boating industry approaches the 7 billion euro turnover threshold in 2022. During the Ordinary General Meeting of I Saloni Nautici Srl, the company's Board of Directors was confirmed.
Looking towards the future, the association has projects focused on research, technological innovation, regulatory planning, and the evolution of the Genoa International Boat Show.
President Saverio Cecchi emphasized the need for greater attention to be given to the sector, stating, "Our true strength lies in our unity as a community. The yachting supply chain is a source of pride for the Made in Italy brand, and we look to the future with dedication, perseverance, and depth."
The SATEC Convention, held at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, serves as an important platform for networking and discussing key topics such as sustainability. The convention includes an international conference titled "Shaping the Future, World Yachting Sustainability Forum," organized in partnership with IBI - International Boating Industry and McKinsey & Company.
Cecchi expressed optimism about the association's growth rate matching that of the industry it represents, with positive prospects for the current year, expected to reach a turnover of €7 billion. He also highlighted the association's active involvement in drafting the Sea Plan and collaborating with government authorities.
Acknowledging the Vice Presidents' contributions, Cecchi commended their work in promoting the sector both nationally and internationally. The association engages in various activities, including legal, regulatory, tax, and customs matters, representation in industry associations, and promoting the Genoa International Boat Show.
The 63rd edition of the Genoa International Boat Show, which will be held from 21st to 26th September, was presented at the Assembly, showcasing its evolution into a modern and strategic business platform. The show will feature a new Eastern Waterfront designed by Renzo Piano, providing a scenic and futuristic exhibition space. The expansion includes navigable canals, a new island, exhibition quays, and additional berths, transforming the show into a global platform.
The Assembly concluded with the unanimous approval of the association's final balance sheet for 2022. General Manager Marina Stella highlighted the growth in association activities and commitment to promoting the industry through various initiatives.
At the Ordinary Shareholders' Meeting of I Saloni Nautici Srl, the company's Board of Directors was confirmed, consisting of Saverio Cecchi as Chairman, Anton Francesco Albertoni, Carla Demaria, Piero Formenti, Giancarlo Galeone, Andrea Razeto, and Marina Stella.
