The 74-metre Amels 242 with an exterior design by Tim Heywood will be delivered in autumn 2021.
“This yacht will once again show a different character to any of our previous Amels Limited Editions deliveries,” comments Rutger Dolk, part of the Amels commercial team. “The ability to adapt the proven platform to the client’s wishes is why our Limited Editions approach is working so well. The extremely comfortable and quiet platform with a renowned level of quality and combined with a fast delivery creates a very attractive proposition.”
The Amels 242 is exceptionally manoeuvrable, comfortable and quiet. Naval architecture has already been proven in global voyages covering thousands of miles.
Since the delivery of the first Amels 242 five years ago, the Amels 242 has quickly become the world’s most successful yacht in the 75-metre segment.
Renowned designer Tim Heywood is the master behind the Amels 242’s streamlined exterior lines. His timeless signature is captured in her well-balanced proportions and slim volume, accentuated by attractive details like the long curve of her bridge wing stations.
The Amels design team has worked on a wide range of features based on client and crew feedback – from a third jacuzzi, located on the foredeck in front of the Owners Suite, to full surround multicolour underwater LED lighting.
The yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests across two main-deck VIP suites and three lower-deck suites. Her interior will be decorated to the custom design of the owner.
The Amels 242 features an entire private 374 square-metre Owners Deck with spectacular forward-facing Stateroom; a large swimming pool; and the award-winning full beam midships wellness and relaxing spa area with a unique 19.5 square metre folding beach platform.
Dedicated Owners Deck is 384 square metres length and includes different features like a forward-facing suite, bathrooms and dressings, office, lounge and aft deck dining. The Owners Deck stretches from foredeck with jacuzzi and sunbeds through a luxury suite, office and lounge to the aft deck dining.
Glass windbreakers ensure uninterrupted ocean views, while the level sill of the curved sliding glass doors completes the smooth inside-out transition.
Wellness Centre is 75 square-metre length while Sea Terrace is 20 square-metre length.
The starboard folding Sea Terrace adds another great place on board to enjoy life on the water. The Sea Terrace’s external teak stairs connect you to the Main Deck and the swimming pool.
The Wellness Centre and folding Sea Terrace are located midships in the most comfortable and stable part of the yacht. This place can be configured with jacuzzi, hammam, sauna with outside window, gym, massage or beauty, shower and day head, inboard wet space, fully drained, with a sofa and juice bar.
The Main Deck’s centrepiece is the swimming pool with counter-current jets for ‘lap’ swimming. Its 6.7 metres long, 3.4 metres wide and 1.25 metres deep and contains 28,000 litres.
The pool was moved to the Wellness Centre to midships and the space below the pool into a technical area. A dedicated pool tank is warmed with energy from the Heat Recovery system in the engine room. So the water is at just the right temperature.
