Vripack has always been celebrated for its expertise in smart and innovative yacht design. Their latest creation, the 41-meter superyacht Hygge, exemplifies this dedication to intelligent craftsmanship. While its size may seem conventional for a superyacht of this category, the layout and ambiance of Hygge offer a unique and inviting experience tailored to meet the diverse needs of its owners. It is designed to enhance accommodation, foster social interactions, and celebrate quality moments among family members across generations — all while expertly maximizing space and functionality.
Constructed by MCP Yachts in Brazil, the same shipyard responsible for the award-nominated Vripack-designed 37.46m Queen Tati, Hygge sets itself apart as a custom-built explorer yacht with distinctive features. Due to certain restrictions in the shipyard’s facilities that limit length, Vripack chose to prioritize volume and functionality. The results speak for themselves: Hygge boasts an impressive volume of 380 gross tons (GT), setting a record for the largest full-aluminum motor yacht produced in South America to date.
The yacht’s interior design, expertly crafted by Leonardo Rotsen, provides sumptuous accommodation for up to ten guests, distributed across an exceptional seven guest cabins. Among these is a luxurious owner’s suite located on the upper deck, complete with dual bathrooms and a private terrace, offering stunning views and a sanctuary for relaxation. To further enhance the experience, the yacht also includes quarters for ten crew members, made possible through Vripack's insightful arrangement of spaces. By relocating the galley and laundry area to a dedicated section on the lower deck, additional room was freed up on the main deck for four guest cabins, along with two additional cabins situated on the lower deck’s starboard side.
Bart Bouwhuis, co-creative director at Vripack, explains the clever layout: “We divided the lower deck into two distinct areas. Each section features separate access and stairways, allowing for seamless service while ensuring that guests can enjoy their time together without interruptions. This thoughtful design grants the main deck entirely to guest use.”
Another striking element of the design is the split-level wheelhouse atop the yacht, which provides the captain with unobstructed panoramic views. Positioned just behind the wheelhouse is a hot tub surrounded by stylish sunpads, creating a communal retreat for relaxation and socialization among guests. The lower deck features a well-equipped beach club, complete with a spa, gym, sauna, and a spacious swim platform, adding to the array of leisure options onboard. Dining arrangements cater to varying preferences, with formal meals in the sky lounge and al fresco dining available on the main deck. Additionally, private banquet seating situated in front of the master suite fosters a sense of togetherness.
Designed for the owner’s chosen cruising grounds that span Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean, Hygge’s semi-displacement hull draws inspiration from the sleek lines of a naval frigate. This design facilitates impressive performance, achieving a top speed of 23 knots, with a comfortable cruising speed of 18 knots.
Damien Chaves, director of engineering at MCP Yachts, highlights Hygge’s exceptional construction: “This full-aluminum hull not only ensures significant internal volume but also provides lightness and autonomy. Hygge is a 40-meter superyacht that offers the comfort of a much larger 50-meter vessel, while its shallow draft and lighter build enable dynamic exploration across diverse waters.”

Project Tanzanite, a 120-meter Amels Full Custom superyacht, has reached the next stage of construction following her launch at the Damen Yachting facilities in Vlissingen. At 6,083 GT, she is the largest new build completed by Amels to date.The yacht first entered the Netherlands in June 2023, arriving from Damen Yachting’s hull building facility in Galati, Romania, where the hull had been constructed. Since then, she has been prepared for outfitting at the shipyard’s facilities in Vlissingen City. In the weeks leading up to the launch, Project Tanzanite was floated inside the dock before moving into open water.With the yacht now in Vlissingen for the final phase of work, more than 1,000 people, including Damen Yachting teams and members of the international superyacht supply chain, will contribute their expertise over the next year. Ferretti Group will present six world premieres at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025, held September 9–14, alongside a fleet of 25 yachts. The debuts include models from Ferretti Yachts, Itama, and Riva: the Ferretti Yachts 800, Itama 54, Riva Aquariva Special, Riva Cento, Riva 58’ Capri, and Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super. These will be joined by the Ferretti Yachts 940 and Pershing GTX70, introduced earlier this year in Venice. Powered by MAN V12 engines, it reaches up to 31 knots.The Itama 54, styled by Tommaso De Luca, features a double-cockpit layout with seating for 10, extended side glazing, and a lower deck with two cabins. Its LOA is 16.44 meters with MAN engine options up to 850 hp.The Riva Aquariva Special updates the long-standing Aquariva line with new navigation lights, redesigned windscreen, and expanded swim platform while maintaining analogue helm instrumentation. It measures 10.07 meters and reaches 41.5 knots.The Riva Cento, marking the 100th Rivamare, introduces new color options, integrated stern handrail, and a convertible interior dinette. With an LOA of 11.88 meters, it is powered by twin Volvo Penta engines.The Riva 58’ Capri is an evolution of the 56’ Rivale with three cabins, a fixed hardtop, and garage options for tenders and water toys. Its length is 17.27 meters with speeds up to 37 knots.The Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super, at 34.37 meters, features fold-out terraces in the stern, redesigned flybridge, and two interior layout options. Italian marine manufacturers Castoldi and Nauta have developed the Jet Tender 34 Limo, marking Castoldi's first entry into the limousine tender segment. The 10.4-meter vessel will serve as ship-to-shore transportation for a new boutique cruise ship fleet under construction in Italy, with four limousine tenders and two support vessels ordered per vessel.Giacomo Castoldi, CEO of Castoldi, stated: "This project represents a new chapter for Castoldi that expands our offerings to new markets, while maintaining the commitment to innovation, quality, and luxury we are known for."
