L’amage, one of the largest luxury superyacht projects in the world, is the latest work from the visionary designer H.Bekradi from HBD Studios.
In September 2016, the yacht was premiered at the Monaco Yacht Show at an event organized by Kymeta Corporation. The inspiration behind this project was to design a futuristic superyacht style that goes beyond the concept, using current technology, and developed in collaboration with naval architects.
L’Amage measures 190 meters of overall length & 28.6 meters in width, a passenger capacity of 28 guests, 14 staterooms plus a private apartment for the owner, and 70 crew members.
Using one of the most advanced propulsion technologies available in the maritime industry called CODAG (combination of diesel engines & gas turbines) together with controllable-pitch propellers this superyacht can reach a top speed of 32 knots thanks to the 95000hp generated by its 2 diesel engine running together with 2 gas turbines.
This propulsion system is mostly used for warships, where a speed faster than their cruising speed is required. The fuel capacity of 1500 tons enables this vessel an approx. 6000 nautical miles of independence.
Christoph Kuhnert from the Yacht Naval Architects (YNA) has consulted HBD Studios on the general feasibility of the concept and the hull shape since the beginning of the project.
L’Amage is the first superyacht project to incorporate the flat panel satellite technology by KYMETA that can entirely replace the unsightly satellite domes on top of the yacht, which has been an industry standard for years.
The flat satellite panels can be easily installed anywhere behind the exterior walls of the superstructure of the yacht and as a result a much lighter & slimmer antenna mast can be designed, freeing up a noticeable amount of space in the sundeck area.
