Floating Life has announced the sale of K-42, the second unit in the Series K, following the sale of the first hull, K-40m, in October 2015 to an American client. Studio Sculli of Sarzana (La Spezia) successfully completed the naval architecture and design for the first hull and will also be working on the second hull. Like her predecessor, K-42 will be a semi-custom design built with high quality materials and finished to satisfy the individual client's needs. Based on a tried and proven platform, every Series K client can tailor the superstructure and interior, however, plus select the shipyard. Floating Life further takes care of project management during the build and all logistics for owners after delivery.
A shipyard for the build is yet to be decided. As with the first hull, which was assigned to Cerri Cantieri Navali, the yard will be chosen by Andrea Pezzini, CEO of Floating Life, and the project manager for the new build. This process allows for the world’s best international shipyards to compete.
The K-42 includes five decks, displacing a voluminous 450 gross tons for her size. Twelve guests are being accommodated. A notable on board feature is the owner’s deck, comprising a master stateroom, owner’s salon, and private Jacuzzi. A beach club and a 10-meter tender are other highlights divulged.
Floating Life anticipates the K-42 to see a top speed of 16 knots and a range of 5,400 nautical miles.
