The international yacht management firm has released information on their 43-meter explorer project with Cantiere Delle Marche that is in full swing at the Italian shipyard, with the hull now complete and being prepared for painting and all the five decks in position, ready for installation of onboard systems.
The second hull of the Floating Life’s full-custom K Series, which includes the flagship K40 explorer, K42 was created with the help of a sophisticated hydrodynamic computer program and afterwards tank tested with the assistance of the Swedish-based SSPA marine surveyors.
With an overall height of 5.8 meters and a 2.8-meter draft at full load, the construction ensures an improved level of safety among boats of similar dimensions. The yacht features somewhat aggressive lines, emphasized by the use of just 4-millimeters-thick stucco, instead of the common coating of 10 to 20 millimeters, making for a much neater look. The exterior features a large beach club on the lower deck that can be soundproofed upon owner’s request.
The 50-square-meter astern swimming platform is complemented with another extendable platform. The main deck has various storage spaces for two tenders of 11 and 6 meters launched by two cranes, similar to those used on northern ocean supply vessels, as well as a jet sky and a SUV. Furthermore, the 170-square-meter aft deck transforms into a cinema or a sheltered open air disco.
Conceived as an exclusive owner’s deck, the upper deck hosts a stateroom, two bathrooms, a spacious salon and private Jacuzzi on a private terrace facing aft. It is, however, shared with skipper’s quarters, which communicate directly with the bridge. The latter boasts an integrated instrument panel with navigation systems more common onboard superyachts of over 60 meters in length. Two guest cabins and crew quarters are located below decks. Diverse technical, service and additional storage spaces are situated below the lower deck. All interior furnishings and décor in finest materials can be customized.
K42 is expected to have a remarkable range of 5.000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
