Nautor Swan has launched the ClubSwan 43, a new addition to its fleet. Designed by Juan Kouyoumdjian, this yacht aims to set a new standard in sailing by combining advanced technology with precise craftsmanship, intended for both enthusiasts and professionals.
The ClubSwan 43 is designed as a versatile crossover yacht, capable of high performance in competitive racing while also offering a 'racing-cruising' experience. Kouyoumdjian explained, "The project aimed to create a yacht that excels in One Design and ORC classes, achieved through continuous discussions with sailors and end users."
The yacht integrates advanced solutions with design features to ensure it excels in all aspects of sailing. Constructed with a vinylester infusion and carbon reinforcements, the hull and deck maintain structural strength and weight control. It also features a high modulus carbon fibre mast and boom, and a prepreg carbon bowsprit for both racing and cruising versions.
Key design elements include a deep keel recess for enhanced performance, a high-performance rudder for optimal hydrodynamic efficiency, and precision-milled fin and keel. These features, inspired by America's Cup innovations, aim to meet high standards of functionality and performance.
The sail and rigging systems are fine-tuned for optimal handling, based on years of racing experience. The ClubSwan 43 is also developed as a One Design package, with a standard keel that can be optimized for ORC circuits. The sail plan includes a square-top mainsail, providing agile and precise performance.
Federico Michetti, Head of Sports Activities and CS43 Product Manager, stated, "ClubSwan 43 offers performance and style in both the Swan One Design circuit and worldwide rating racing events. This model transcends specific categories, offering a versatile sailing experience."
Inside, the yacht features a spacious and adaptable interior by Micheletti+Partners. The interior is designed for flexibility, allowing 80% of it to be removed for racing and reinstalled for cruising comfort. The design focuses on practicality and comfort, using innovative and ecological materials.
The ClubSwan 43 will debut at the Rolex Swan Cup 2024, competing in the Swan One Design Division. This launch reaffirms Nautor Swan's position in yacht design and manufacturing, combining performance and comfort in one vessel.
Nautor Swan was founded in 1966 in Pietarsaari, Finland. The builder entered the superyacht market in 1999. Since then, the yard has continued building high-performance sailing yachts in three different lines; ClubSwan, Swan Yachts and Maxi Swan Yachts.
