Azimut is set to make a splash at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show with the American debut of the Azimut Seadeck 6, the inaugural model in its innovative hybrid family motor yacht series.
The renowned shipyard, which boasts the world’s largest fleet, will showcase a total of 20 yachts from its diverse portfolio, demonstrating its commitment to catering to an international audience at one of the most prestigious nautical events globally.
The Seadeck 6 will be showcased publicly for the first time in the U.S. at FLIBS 2024, marking a significant step forward in Azimut's hybrid yacht technology tailored for families. Designed by Alberto Mancini with interiors by Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez, this remarkable vessel embodies advanced technology that enhances efficiency, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 40% over a typical year of use compared to similarly sized yachts with traditional propulsion systems.
To achieve these emissions reductions, Azimut employs a lightweight carbon fiber superstructure along with a high-efficiency hull developed through collaboration between the Azimut|Benetti Group's R&D department and NAMES. Additionally, the Seadeck 6 features the Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode system, enabling zero-emission anchoring and cruising—further minimizing onboard consumption.
Sustainability is at the forefront of the Seadeck 6's design, with materials chosen that emphasize natural, recycled, and recyclable alternatives. For example, traditional teak has been replaced with cork, while the carpet on the Lower Deck utilizes Econyl, a fiber derived from regenerated fishing nets. Inside the yacht, recycled plastic PET is used instead of PVC for the bulkhead core.
These innovations signal the dawn of a new era for Azimut, fostering a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature. Alberto Mancini's visionary Fun Island concept reimagines leisure on board, featuring expansive terrace wings that open to the sea and a high-low platform for easy water access, complemented by a spacious sunbed for relaxation. The Fun Island promotes social interaction among guests, reinforcing the sense of community onboard.
