Cantieri di Pisa, renowned for its rich heritage in the Italian yachting industry, welcomes Antonio Luxardo as its new chief designer. With a degree in architecture from the University of Genoa and extensive experience in yacht design, Luxardo brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.
Luxardo's illustrious career includes co-founding Optima Design alongside Michele Zignego in 2004, a La Spezia-based firm specializing in yacht engineering. Under this partnership, Optima Design will oversee the engineering aspects of Cantieri di Pisa's upcoming projects, marking a pivotal collaboration for the shipyard.
Having collaborated with prominent Italian yards such as Amer, Baglietto, Benetti, and Sanlorenzo, Luxardo boasts a diverse portfolio encompassing various vessel types, sizes, and design styles. His architectural background extends beyond yacht design to include cruise ships, tourism, and port infrastructure projects, as well as residential buildings and product design.
With Optima Design's multidisciplinary team of 30 professionals spanning yachting, industrial design, automotive, and strategic communication sectors, Luxardo has spearheaded over 400 projects, overseeing every phase from conceptualization to construction.

Cantieri di Pisa shipyard was founded in 1945 on the river Arno, the Tuscan shipyard became famous for its planing motoryachts, such as the Akhir and Kitalpha series designed by Pierluigi Spadolini. Since 2021 Enrico Gennasio is the new owner of Cantieri di Pisa.
