The Spanish studio Rodriguez Design revealed the latest concept motor yacht Samana. The 95m superyacht has elegant lines, tied up by a surrounding surface acting as a “halo” and knitting everything together. This wraparound feature is the surface that involves the bow, goes down the sides of the vessel and joins the swimming platform aft. Another distinctive feature of the yacht is the angled supports on the superstructure which extend all the way up towards the sky deck, where it transforms into a rollbar which hosts carbon fiber fins to allow visibility.
“The key idea while developing the vessel was in line with the studio’s current design language: to create a yacht with simple, flowing lines that have character on their own, without the need to over-style or crowd the yacht with non-coherent surfaces. In its simplicity, the yacht also transforms itself while walking through, giving the impression of an ever changing design,” says Josh Rodriguez, owner of Rodriguez Design.
The yacht features a beach club with a wet bar and chill out area, the main deck has a large and open sunbathing area, with almost 6 meter wide sunpads and U-shaped seating arrangement for up to 10 people, this area can be used for both informal afternoon cocktails or for a more formal evening set-up. On the main deck, starting from the aft, a gym, spa and beauty area is located. Forwards of this, there is an access to the main saloon and main dining area.
Samana can accommodate 14 guests across seven cabins, including four guest cabins and two VIP cabins in the main deck. The owner’s suite is located on the owner’s deck, which is also the wheelhouse deck.
On the sky deck the sun loungers or exterior gym equipment can be found, and forwards, a round hot-tub surrounded by a sun pad area.
On the lower deck the accommodation for the crew is provided, the tender storage area with space for tenders up to 10 meters in length, a broad arrangement of toys (submarines, jet skis, etc) and a diving store equipped with a compressor. Samana can reach a maximum speed of 20 knots and cruise at 14 knots. She will have a range of 8000 nautical miles.
