Dutch yacht builder Damen has delivered the 55.5-metre support vessel B3 of the popular YS 5009 design. The project was closed in a deal during the Monaco Yacht Show 2018, with Burgess New Construction division overseeing the build through to delivery.

Built of steel and aluminium, B3 features exteriors and interiors both penned in-house at Damen in collaboration with the owner’s team.
Following in the footsteps of her sister ships Axis, Shadow, Power Play, etc. B3 has been configured to house 6 guests across 3 suites, making her suitable for short breaks away from the mother yacht or even a complete yachting solution. The crew quarters meanwhile allow for a crew of 7, as well as 4 pilots, security guards or guides.

She features a Sun Deck and a Main Deck lounge with panoramic views and an impressive carrying capability of multiple tenders and toys. With interior volume of 489 GT, B3 has a 12-tonne deck crane and stern A-frame fittings for efficient launch and retrieval of large and heavy equipment like submersibles.
B3 has a top speed of above 20 knots with Damen’s patented and proven Sea Axe hull form for sustained high speeds and greater seakeeping performance even in rough seas. She features a 5,000 nautical mile range at 16 knots thanks to four Caterpillar 35122.C diesel engines.

Always busy with support vessels, Damen has recently launched the 46-metre support vessel Joy Rider.
