Italian brand Centouno Navi revealed the 40m concept Eterea, which was made in collaboration between Manuela Lucchesi, designer and entrepreneur, and Marco Arnaboldi, naval engineer.
When designing Eterea, the team had two specific objectives in mind, as explained by Manuela Lucchesi and Marco Arnaboldi. They aimed to create a distinctive profile for the yacht while ensuring that guests could enjoy a close connection with the sea. To achieve this, they designed a spacious aft area that sits almost at water level and features foldable bulwarks. This versatile space can accommodate various toys and a tender of up to 9 meters. Interestingly, it also provides room for a pickleball court, as requested by the American owner. The team paid careful attention to ensuring that the flybridge and antennas harmoniously blend with the yacht's overall profile.
Manuela Lucchesi further emphasizes the desire to establish a continuous relationship with the sea, which is exemplified by the owner's cabin opening directly onto the stern area. The layout of the yacht can be customized according to the owner's needs, with options for up to five guest cabins and four crew cabins. The positioning of the owner's cabin and the arrangement of decks on different levels were carefully planned to maximize privacy.
The sleeping area is slightly lower than the aft swim platform, the living area is on an intermediate floor, and the flybridge is seamlessly integrated into the side profile of Eterea. Collaboration with the Milan-based studio Grandi Architetture & Partners, led by architect Massimo Marzorati, contributed to the study of original and exclusive furnishings for the yacht.
The construction of Eterea utilizes sandwich construction techniques, combining unidirectional hybrid carbon and glass fibers with vinyl ester resin and high-density PVC core. This approach offers several advantages, including reduced vibrations (thanks to the hydrojets), decreased weight, and a stronger hull that eliminates the need for structural bulkheads.
The engines are four MTU 16V2000 M96L units (2,600 hp each), which, combined with the MJP 550 DRB water jets, are capable of making Eterea rush at 58 knots, with a cruising speed of 48 knots and a range of over 500 nautical miles.
Centouno Navi was founded by the designer and entrepreneur Manuela Lucchesi, with the collaboration of the naval engineer Marco Arnaboldi. The idea behind the projects of the Viareggio-based shipyard is to deliver uncompromising performance through a refined 'custom-made' composite construction combined with water jet propulsion.
