The Besiktas Group has launched its latest compact explorer yacht, Bee, in Tuzla Bay, Turkey. Measuring 35-meter, Bee is designed to combine the rugged capabilities of larger expedition vessels with the agility and accessibility of a smaller yacht.
Bee's design and naval architecture were led by Sergio Cutolo, president of Hydro Tec, under the direction of ART Shipyard CEO Hüseyin Yardimci. Originally conceived as an 25m concept, the yacht was expanded to 35m feet with a 7.6m beam, maximizing interior space while keeping the vessel under the 300 GT mark.
“This is really a pocket megayacht with all the contents and equipment that you may find on a much bigger yacht,” Cutolo said, noting that the design aims to compete directly with North European and Italian offerings.
The interior, designed by Michele Dragoni of Dragoni Design Lab, features expansive windows, light oak floors, and white lacquered ceilings, creating a bright and open atmosphere. The layout includes a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, four staterooms on the lower deck, and accommodations for up to six crew members. Multiple lounges and dining areas are provided throughout the living quarters.
Exterior spaces are designed for relaxation and entertainment, with plush seating on the upper decks and bow, and an infinity hot tub on the aft deck. A swim platform offers direct sea access, and a crane is available for deploying and retrieving toys and tenders.
Constructed with a steel full-displacement hull and an aluminum superstructure, Bee is both robust and lightweight. The yacht is equipped for long-range expeditions, boasting a fuel capacity that supports a range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Twin Caterpillar engines provide a top speed of 13 knots. Zero-speed stabilizers ensure a smooth journey, even in challenging sea conditions.
Bee is currently listed for sale with Ocean Independence, with an asking price of approximately EUR15.3 million.
