Baltic Yachts has delivered the groundbreaking sailing yacht Raven to her new owner. Unveiling a new era in yacht design, the 34-meter Baltic 111 superyacht is the pioneer in its size category to feature hydrofoils mounted on adjustable side arms, revolutionizing its sailing capabilities.
Crafted for dynamic coastal and ocean navigation, Raven boasts a lightweight hull that underscores its commitment to high-performance sailing. The Finnish shipyard reports highly successful early sailing trials, showcasing reliability and achieving sustained speeds in the high 20s.
The visionary design of Raven was realized by naval architects Botin Partners, with structural engineering by PURE Design. The interior and exterior aesthetics were brought to life by Finn Jarkko Jämsén, and Garth Brewer of A2B Marine Projects oversaw the meticulous build in collaboration with the shipyard.
The project incorporated an exhaustive weight-saving initiative to uphold the yacht's low displacement, utilizing carbon composite components throughout. Raven's design is centered on sailing on its chine, with the leeward foil providing substantial support to a significant portion of its displacement.
Raven is powered by twin Yanmar generators and a Swiss Phi-Power AG electric propulsion motor, featuring a retractable propeller with carbon blades and a titanium hub, completing its innovative drive train.
Accommodating up to four guests in a thoughtfully designed two-stateroom layout, Raven's owner's stateroom features a spacious double centerline berth that can be conveniently folded against the interior bulkhead during racing. The versatile cockpit can transform into a semi-covered, hardtop seating area with a clam-shell-style forward section.
Baltic Yachts was founded in 1973 with a clear objective to build better yachts that are lighter, stiffer, and faster. With more than 550 yachts launched, that objective has been continuously met.
