Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the sale of a Darwin 102, a testament to the success of the Darwin Class, which combines superyacht standards with rugged, go-anywhere capabilities in a compact package. The experienced British yacht owner was impressed with the quality and ingenuity of the Darwin Class, which features hulls with much more volume than those of conventional motor yachts of the same size, along with deep and rounded underwater sections, providing greater fuel and storage capacity. The sale was facilitated by Andrew Bond of Fraser, who represented the buyer.

The yacht features four guest cabins on the lower deck, with the owner's suite forward on the main deck, two bright salons on the main and upper decks, and accommodations for a crew of five. The interior design has been entrusted to London-based Lawson Robb design firm. Among the changes made at the owner's request were the modification of the windscreen in the wheelhouse to enhance visibility and the placement of the tender crane in a compartment at the far end of the sun deck.
“We are very proud of the Darwin Class, which has exceeded our wildest expectations over the years," says Ennio Cecchini, co-founder and President of Cantiere delle Marche. "This highly customizable series of explorer yachts continues to assert itself as a warhorse for our shipyard. We share the same values with our clients, and the proactive attitude of our sales team, our sensitivity and availability to introduce changes, together with the exquisite construction quality, were among the reasons why this experienced British yacht owner chose to have a Darwin 102 built by CdM."
The Darwin 102 will have a displacement of 240 tons, a Gross Tonnage of 245GT, and twin Caterpillar C18 Acert 500kW engines with a range of around 5,000 nautical miles at 9 knots.
