Last weekend, the 26-metre Calamaba ran aground in Sardinia near Cala Sabina beach according to footage that emerged on social media. No injuries or pollution was reported although damage to the Riva 85 Opera was substantial.
At the time of the incident, it is believed that four people were on board according to local reports. People onboard included the owner of the yacht with his wife and a couple of guests. The yacht ran aground during the night according to local media.
It is currently not known what caused the incident but there have been no injuries or pollution reported. According to local media, a snapped anchor may have been the cause.
Part of the Riva 85 Opera series, Calamaba has a length of 25.91 metres and stretches across a beam of 6.2m. Reaching a top speed of 26 knots, it can accommodate 8 guests in a total of 4 cabins.
The yacht was rapidly removed from the rocks by local authorities with no environmental damage.

At first, the expected delivery date was 2021, but the shipyard has moved it to 2022. Rainbow II is a classical 51m sloop. The 60m yacht has begun her journey from Poland to the Amels facility in the Netherlands for outfitting. Amels 60, featuring hybrid power and propulsion technology, has an Espen Oeino exterior design. The model has become the second collaboration with Oeino for the yard, following the 78m Amels Full Custom, which is now under construction for delivery in 2021. Winch Design was appointed by the owner to create the bespoke interiors of this first Amels 60 hull. It’s the third Amels new-build yacht for the owner. The Amels 60 interior layout sleeps up to twelve guests in six comfortable cabins and thirteen crew members. With a cruising speed of 13 knots, she can reach 4,500 nautical miles. Marcelo Penna Yacht Design reveals the 50m explorer concept. This yacht can accommodate twelve guests and eleven crew members. Outdoor areas are suitable for pleasure – there is a jacuzzi on the sun deck; a spacious beach club; and a place for submarines, cars, and tenders. The Barcelona-based studio includes a large owner’s area and a nice, comfortable main saloon in its concept. The explorer is totally suitable for long journeys, which can be suitable in this era. Dunya Yachts has secured a major contract to finish the construction of the 55m all-steel explorer. Ulucitcan (ex Project Chuggaboom) is the biggest yacht for the shipyard since Axioma. The construction on the explorer started ten years ago in a yard in Florida, but it was put on hold after the shipyard hit financial problems. In 2017, the yacht was transported to Europe and was inspected by Dunya Yachts in 2019. Ulucitcan was designed by Vripack. She’s a classical and spacious yacht with the ability to travel 6,000 nautical miles and can accommodate fourteen guests in seven cabins and a staff of twelve.
