Oceanco’s 111 meter Y722, completes a significant milestone today as she is transported from Oceanco’s first-phase construction facilities in Zwijndrecht to its outfitting facilities in Alblasserdam.
Designed by Oceanco and Espen Oeino International with interiors from Mark Berryman Design, Y722 will join a select fleet of privately-owned vessels engaged in scientific research, discovery, and exploration. The yacht’s creation is the result of a constructive partnership between Oceanco, YTMC and Y.CO.
The design of Y722 revolves around fostering a sense of community on board, offering a plethora of unique features and accommodating up to 22 guests and 33 crew members.
In accordance with Y722's scientific aspirations and future cruising plans, the design process prioritized efficiency and environmental consciousness. The yacht's core features a diesel-electric power plant and a large battery energy storage system. This setup not only ensures smooth engine operation but also enables extended periods of emission-free and silent running. To further enhance efficiency, the yacht incorporates a waste heat recovery system, while its advanced wastewater treatment system complies with high environmental standards, particularly in special areas.
Reliability of systems and services, as well as ease of maintenance, have been meticulously considered throughout the design. Durable materials have been chosen, and the technical systems are designed with flexibility and redundancy in mind, ensuring seamless operation and ease of upkeep. Y722's structure, insulation, equipment, system integration, and mountings have all been engineered to significantly reduce noise and vibration, setting the stage for an exceptionally comfortable yachting experience.
“At Oceanco, we thrive on working with visionary clients and their teams to build yachts that challenge the status quo and look to the future for inspiration. It is very rewarding to be able to collaborate with an owner and their team in such a positive and involved way. From her unique layout and philanthropic operations to her forward-thinking, future-proofed technical capabilities, Y722 is a trailblazer in every aspect,” says Marcel Onkenhout, Oceanco CEO.
Y722 is scheduled for delivery in 2025.
