24th Benetti Yachtmaster Was Held in Budapest
The 24th edition of Benetti Yachtmaster wrapped up in Budapest, offering a comprehensive exploration of the luxury yachting lifestyle and emphasizing the pivotal role of captains in forging enduring connections between owners and shipyards.The event, which ran from the 21st to the 23rd of February, welcomed over 300 industry professionals from around the globe, including captains, owner representatives, surveyors, stewardesses, and other stakeholders.In today's yacht market, the purchase of a yacht symbolizes the epitome of a lifestyle. The concept of onboard living has evolved to prioritize open, informal, and nature-integrated spaces, exemplified by Benetti's new Voyager yachts featuring expansive decks and panoramic views.At the heart of the Benetti Yachtmaster was a focus on the essential role of captains and crew in shaping the onboard experience. The program, introduced by Azimut|Benetti Group CEO Marco Valle, underscored the significance of their expertise in crafting the yachts of tomorrow.Throughout the event, discussions delved into evolving concepts of luxury and lifestyle, highlighting the need for personalized onboard experiences that seamlessly blend with nature. The captain's insight plays a crucial role in understanding owners' expectations and shaping yacht design accordingly.The agenda also addressed environmental sustainability, with Benetti showcasing cutting-edge technologies aimed at reducing the yachting industry's ecological footprint. From energy management systems to alternative biofuels, the focus was on enhancing onboard sustainability without compromising luxury.The second day featured training sessions and networking opportunities, including a workshop on leadership culture conducted by LH (Luxury Hospitality) company. The day culminated in a picturesque "Moonlight Wonders" Gala dinner cruise along the Bel Danube, offering guests a breathtaking view of Budapest at night.The success of the Benetti Yachtmaster owes much to its partners and sponsors, whose contributions were integral to the event's realization. The event's achievements have prompted plans for a repeat in Key West on the 28th and 29th of February, highlighting its growing influence on a global scale.Founded in 1873, Benetti is the oldest Italian shipyard specializing in luxury yachts. Ferretti Group presents Riva 82’ Diva at the Dubai International Boat Show, which started today and will be held till March 3. Riva 82’ Diva is the new star of Riva’s flybridge range and joins four hugely successful models: Riva 90’ Argo, Riva 102’ Corsaro Super, Riva 110’ Dolcevita and Riva 130’ Bellissima. Bewitchingly beautiful and innovative, Riva 82’ Diva revolutionizes the onboard spaces, achieving a perfect equilibrium of functionality, comfort and design. The new concept puts the emphasis on outdoor liveability and offers a new take on the interiors. The flybridge was developed to accommodate three separate spaces: a central lounge complete with dinette and bar, a sunbathing area forward, and a lounge area. Keel Laying of the 88-meter Admiral’s Project Spyder Announced by The Italian Sea Group
The Italian Sea Group has announced the keel laying of the new mega yacht, Admiral 88 meters Project Spyder, in collaboration with the international architects Espen Oeino International and FM Architettura.“This mega yacht represents a further milestone confirming the strong synergy created with prestigious partners such as Espen Oeino International and FM Architettura,” commented Giovanni Costantino, Founder & CEO of The Italian Sea Group. “The keel laying ceremony is a special moment in the construction of a yacht, especially for a project of this size and with these futuristic characteristics, both aesthetically and engineering-wise. Now that we are at the beginning of the development phase, we are all extremely eager to see this yacht take shape.”The mega yacht with modern and elegant lines is spread over five decks for a length of 88 meters and 13.8 meters in width and will have a swimming pool on the main deck measuring 10.3m x 3.5m including 3 skylights above the 100 sq. m beach club. The yacht can accommodate 18 guests across nine cabins, including a full-beam master suite. Project Spyder will also have a convertible pickleball court at the bow that can turn into a basketball court and a helipad if needed, two tenders of 8.5m and 10m together with a generous selection of water toys are housed inside the garage, a wellness area with a gym and hot tub at the sundeck. “We are delighted to collaborate with the Italian Sea Group and FM Architettura on this very ambitious project and look forward to witnessing the great progress on the construction of the yacht,” states the design and architecture studio Espen Oeino International.The delivery of the new mega yacht Admiral 88 meters is scheduled for 2027.The Italian Sea Group is a global operator in the luxury yachting industry, listed on Euronext Milan (“EXM”) and active in the construction and refit of motor yachts and sailing yachts up to 140 meters. Fifth Unit of the SW96 Launched by Southern Wind
Southern Wind has introduced the newest addition of the successful SW96 family: Liberty, which became the fifth unit of the series. The yacht was launched in Cape Town. Designed by the respected teams of Farr Yacht Design and Nauta Design, the SW96#05 is a further evolution of the successful SW96 series with an additional emphasis on racing.The yacht’s hull and deck are built in sandwich with a foam core and infused carbon skins for lighter weight. Her lightship displacement of 62 tonnes and a tall rig, grant excellent speed in light air. To enhance her performance soul, the yacht has a Hall Spars high-modulus carbon mast and carbon boom as well as EC6+ carbon rigging with double backstay pre-configured to accommodate both pinhead and square top mainsail.SW96#05’s hull has full water lines with straight end diagonals, a wide, low transom and full forward sections. These, together with a fixed bowsprit, a lifting keel (3.4-5.5m) and twin rudder configuration, make her easy to sail and control in a wide range of conditions.Liberty has a raised saloon layout, where a sleek coachroof with panoramic windows floods the interior with light. Additional views and light come through the largest hull portlights in the series. Her deck is the first of the series to feature the latest Southern Wind “Twin Fold” transom.The yacht features a three-guest cabin layout with a wide TV area forward of the saloon and a larger owner’s suite with ample closet space forward. SW96#05 Liberty will now undertake extensive sea trials in the waters of Cape Town before heading to the Mediterranean for her first Summer season. Ferretti Group Supports David Beckham's 7 Fund for UNICEF
An auction organized by Ferretti Group, in support of David Beckham’s 7 Fund for UNICEF, has ended, with the proceeds of the special-edition yacht going towards UNICEF’s work in El Salvador, creating safe spaces for children to learn and play. The Ferretti Group auctioned a Riva Anniversario boat to raise funds, which will go towards protecting children, particularly those living in El Salvador whose lives are often threatened by violence. Riva Anniversario is the special limited-edition boat created by Riva to celebrate the shipyard's 180th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of the iconic Aquarama. Only 18 examples were produced, one of which was destined to support the work of 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund. In 2023, the 7 Fund delivered sports, cultural, and artistic activities to over five thousand children and adolescents in El Salvador. These activities aimed to foster inclusion, eliminate gender stereotypes, and strengthen community bonds, all while addressing the problems that the country faces concerning violence against children. To date, more than 36,000 children in El Salvador have benefited from this programme. “Providing children with safe spaces to learn and play is key to ensuring their enrollment in education and providing them with opportunities to develop their full potential. This is why we are grateful to Ferretti Group for the donation made to UNICEF through the 7 Fund,” said UNICEF Private Fundraising and Partnerships Director Carla Haddad Mardini. “I would like to thank UNICEF for the chance to contribute through our boat to such a noble and deserving cause as the one supported by ‘7 Fund for UNICEF’.
