Ken Freivokh Design, the UK studio behind the legendary Maltese Falcon and her “sequel”, Black Pearl, has just unveiled a new mega-yacht concept, measuring 140 meters. The large-scale project strikes with its sleek lines, glassy surfaces and a 3D feel that its complex multilevel structure conveys. The yacht’s signature element, the circular cut-out in the tip of the bow, turns out to be an observation platform for best sunset and sunrise views. The forward helipad allows for two helicopters on standby. Stepping down, you find yourself in a sunken lounge with a temperature-controlled pool. The side glass panels protect from winds, without constricting sea views. The boat’s layout insists on a clear separation between guest and crew quarters. The centerpiece of the interior social space is the full-sized IMAX cinema. The owner’s staterooms and luxury guest suites are spread over the seven decks, all connected with a glass elevator for major convenience onboard. The stern of the yacht features a floating dock for tenders, in addition to the full-beam garage able to house up to six limousine tenders and an array of watertoys, accessible from the starboard. Another Freivokh Design project of the same size, the 141-meter wooden sailing yacht Dream Symphony, is currently under construction at the Dream Ship Victory yard in Turkey.

The latest hull of the 26.3-meter 860 Deluxebridge series by the American-designed and Taiwanese-built shipyard is nearing completion. The all-composite yacht is due to be shipped to Outer Reef’s headquarters in Fort Lauderdale in early 2018 for the fit-out. This project yacht was ordered by a repeat customer, owner of three other Outer Reef models. The 860 Deluxebridge series favorably differs from other ranges by a temperature-controlled helm station relocated to the upper deck, so that the main deck forward, traditionally reserved for the control center, is freed up to host a spacious country kitchen for cooking and dining. The latter novelty can be observed in the recently released photo of the completed hull and superstructure, showing off the scale of the project. The accommodation features 4 guests cabins and crew quarters with heads, lounge and galley. The walk-around skylounge provides additional private dining, entertainment and office areas. The yacht is also equipped with a built-in teak swim platform on the aft deck. On the technical side, the yacht boasts two 750hp John Deere 6135 engines, 3 aluminum fuel tanks with a total capacity of 11.356 liters, Trac Zero Speed stabilizers and a pair of 38KW Northern Lights generators, all these characteristics allowing for comfortable long-range ocean voyaging. Upon the delivery, the owner plans to cruise along both costs of North and South America to explore Nova Scotia, Alaska and Mexico.

The 39.5-meter all-carbon sportfisher named Hull 1015 was launched on the high tide by the New Zealand builder Yachting Developments on November 23.Yacht Harbour closely followed developments on this world’s largest carbon sportfish yacht project, from the moment the hull saw the light of day in December 2016, until now that the three-deck motor yacht left her build shed in Auckland. Hull 1015 was commissioned in 2105 by an international sportfisherman, who opted for Yachting Developments because of their expertise in yachts with carbon hull and superstructure, which are, in fact, considered to be the lightest and fastest of their kind. Moreover, the scale of the 267GT boat allowed for commercial-grade of 3.100hp MTU diesel engines and advanced VEEM gyro stabilizers. Whilst Michael Peters Yacht Design was in charge of the exterior of the yacht, her “contemporary classic” interior was created by Naylor Booth Associate in collaboration with the owner himself. The layout sleeps up to 10 guests in 4 lower deck staterooms, including the owner’s master suite, and up for 6 members of crew. The sportfisher is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2017.
