Tankoa and Nauta Design revealed the brand new project Milano, which marks an exciting expansion of the Tankoa range and underscores the boutique shipyard's commitment to fostering innovative partnerships with renowned designers. “This project means a further step in the growth and consolidation phase that makes Tankoa one of the top players in the construction of luxury megayachts,” says Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts. “Fusing cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to details, the 70mt Milano embodies our vision for excellence. Collaborating with Nauta Design, with whom we share a rich history of mutual respect and friendship spanning three decades, is truly gratifying.Project Milano is drawing inspiration from the city itself, which mirrors various aspects of the endeavor. As the birthplace of Nauta Design and synonymous with elegance, aesthetic sensibility, and intelligent design, Milan serves as a fitting symbol for the collaboration—a place where creative ideas materialize into tangible realities.Measuring an impressive 70 meters in length overall, with a beam of 11.80 meters and a draft of 3.50 meters, the project boasts clean lines that exude purity and balance. These modern and refined exteriors reflect a timeless design inherent to Tankoa and Nauta's DNA.At the heart of Milano lies a magnificent stern area designed to captivate from the outset. This space includes a superb beach club featuring a convertible gym, a sauna, and massage room, alongside folding hull platforms that open at sea level. An exquisite swimming pool adorns the exterior, complemented by an expansive sun lounging area fully customizable to the owner's preferences.A key feature of Milano is the single-tier diesel-electric engine room located on the under-lower deck, facilitating direct access from the guest accommodation to the beach club. The lower deck houses four guest suites, a garage for water toys, crew facilities, and crew cabins, while the main deck features open-air lounges, saloons, dining areas, and VIP staterooms.Dedicated entirely to the owner's indulgence, the upper deck boasts a vast master stateroom with breathtaking views, complemented by private amenities. The bridge deck offers additional guest amenities, including a cinema room and outdoor lounges, while the sundeck provides a perfect setting to relish panoramas.Embracing sustainable technologies, the Milano project features a diesel-electric propulsion system, powered by variable speed generators and e-motors. Additionally, the yacht will be equipped with fuel cells, partnering with leading suppliers to integrate methanol fuel cells, ensuring sustainability, comfort, and safety. This initiative remains open to future advancements in hydrogen storage technologies. Tankoa was founded in 2007 and began production in 2008. As the largest classic motor yacht currently available for sale at 55.4 meters, Madiz holds a distinguished position in nautical history.Boasting Lloyd's classification, Madiz has weathered the passage of time with grace, earning the distinction of being the oldest vessel in operation of its kind. Commissioned by James Coates Jnr and designed by the legendary G.L. Sunreef Yachts is embarking on a significant industrial expansion with the development of a new manufacturing facility in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.The company, which already operates two shipyards in Gdansk, Poland, totaling over 125,000m² of industrial surface, is venturing into new territory with a 65,000m² land reserve in Ras Al Khaimah.Sunreef Yachts is collaborating with RAK Maritime City to bring this ambitious project to fruition. The facility will offer a comprehensive approach to yacht manufacturing, featuring modern paint shops, carpentry, upholstery, and stainless steel workshops equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and robotics.Choosing Ras Al Khaimah as the site for expansion was a strategic decision for Sunreef Yachts. 38m Martinique Lumière Launched by Moonen
Dutch builder Moonen Yachts has successfully launched Lumière, a new 37.8m Martinique at the Moonen yard in the Netherlands. The yacht was customized to suit the owners’ tastes and use of the yacht with an extended sun deck and large hot tub pool, an extended swim platform and a bespoke interior design created in collaboration with Studio Indigo.The award-winning Martinique design by Dutch designer René van der Velden allows natural light in, offers spectacular views out, and creates seamless indoor-outdoor connections. An almost continuous band of panoramic windows wraps around both the main and bridge decks.“We are incredibly proud to see Lumière successfully launched,” says Moonen Yachts Technical Director Nicky van Zon. “We can’t wait to see her glimmer in the Mediterranean sunlight. Lumière will be the most exquisite way to experience all the beautiful worldwide destinations her owners will take her to.” The steel and aluminum Martinique has a maximum speed of 17 knots and long-range transatlantic capability. Moonen will complete final outfitting and commissioning of Lumière with her crew during the coming months. Lumière is the fifth yacht from Moonen’s premium semi-custom Martinique design.The yacht will be delivered to her Australian owners before the summer and is expected to spend her first season in the Mediterranean. Moonen Yachts is a yacht builder based in the Netherlands, and its first yacht was built in 1964 under the original yard name of De Ruiter. In 1981, the yard was renamed Moonen Shipyards. It’s launching its first vessel under new ownership: Alhena. In 2017 Moonen Shipyards changed into Moonen Yachts.
