Superyacht, Somnio, reveals a first look at renderings of its interiors, including luxury apartments designed by Tillberg Design of Sweden, Winch Design, Luttenberger Design.
Somnio, the world’s most exclusive address, will launch in 2024. Owners of the 39 customisable apartments on board will have the chance to work with either Winch Design, Tillberg Design of Sweden or Luttenberger Design on their own individual design brief from purchase.
Embracing nautical glamour, Somnio will be finished to the highest possible standards commensurate with the world’s finest yachts, with the additional benefits of amenities only found in the most exclusive hotels, resorts or private clubs. The apartments will be designed to emulate great finesse with a sense of home and a touch of luxury, allowing Owners to embrace their new home at sea.
Owners will work with either Winch Design, Tillberg Design of Sweden or Luttenberger Design for up to three months to decide the room configurations and select the materials, furniture, lighting and artwork, ensuring a truly tailored solution. The design houses will also assist in sourcing elements such as cutlery, towels and bedding to dress the apartment. In addition to choosing between the three expert design teams, Somnio’s Owners will also be able to bring in their own interior decorator to support the process.
The pioneering project, with a build, design and outfitting cost of approximately 500 million Euros, will boast a range of apartment sizes across six decks. This will start at 182m² of total space (148m² interior and 34m² of veranda), going up to 963m² (602m² interior and 361m² of terrace), with the superyacht’s largest apartment expanding over almost the entire top deck. Bespoke features and layouts will depend on the owner’s selection but may include a personal kitchen, a gym, a library, inside/outside dining spaces and distinct dressing areas and a vast living room space with 270-degree forward views.
Sustainability is a key focus for Somnio, which is being built with the latest clean engine technology, and this will be reflected within the yacht’s design. Where possible, the designers will select the right materials and products to create environmentally responsible interior design with a reduced impact.
As Somnio explores the four corners of the globe, every space onboard will be defined by its function but experienced by thoughtfully selected details, materials and combination of neutral colour tones and textures. The initial design concept promotes relaxed, easy ocean-side living combined with superyacht elegance while allowing for an Owner’s taste preferences in colour, art and personal elements to create this floating home. A seamless transition from the indoor to the outdoor will enhance the superyacht experience. The way the yacht is planned and equipped, and the interior and exterior design, together with the standard of outfitting, will make it as close to living on a private yacht as you can get without buying one of your own.

Apartments are now available for purchase onboard Somnio, with prices starting from nine and a half million Euros. Owners will remain a tightly guarded secret and the process is by invitation or referral only.

The Pearl 82 has been awarded the prestigious title of Best Motor Yacht Under 25 Metres at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2025. The 65-meter classic yacht Lady Esther has been officially redelivered following an extensive three-year rebuild project at Damen Maaskant. The vessel was relaunched from the shipyard’s Stellendam site last year and is currently cruising off the eastern coast of Spain.The rebuild included significant modifications to the yacht’s structure and design. The vessel underwent a 10-meter extension, a reconfigured interior layout, and the addition of two glass-walled decks. A new Jacuzzi was also installed as part of the refurbishment.Exterior design changes were notable, with Vripack opting for a rigid, masculine design typical of explorer yachts. The Dutch studio was also responsible for the interior design, although specific details have not been disclosed.Originally named Hanse, the yacht was delivered in 1979 by the German shipyard Elsflether Werft AG. The original design was completed by Miami-based studio Luiz de Basto, with naval architecture by Alpha Marine. The vessel features accommodation across seven cabins, including a main deck master suite and a VIP cabin.The sundeck serves as the main social hub, originally equipped with a wet bar, Jacuzzi, sunpads, and gym equipment. While the full scope of the recent refit has not been fully detailed, it represents the latest in a series of rebuilds the yacht has undergone during its 45 years in service.The last major rebuild was completed in 2004 and included a 5.8-meter extension. Heesen Yachts has delivered the 50-meter hybrid superyacht Orion (YN 20750), marking the Dutch shipyard's third delivery this year. The aluminum-hulled vessel completed successful sea trials in the North Sea before handover to its owner.Orion features Heesen's Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) with hybrid propulsion, achieving silent electric cruising at 10 knots. The propulsion system combines two MTU 12V 2000 M61 (IMO III) engines with electric motors, reducing fuel consumption to 45 liters per hour in hybrid mode. The judging process for the 2025 Honours awards has concluded in Amsterdam, with three recipients selected from 238 nominations. The winners will be announced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) opening ceremony on October 28.Organized by The Superyacht Life Foundation in partnership with Pier 66 and FLIBS, the Honours recognize individuals making significant contributions to sustainability, innovation, and social impact within the superyacht industry.
