Silent Yachts is set to showcase its innovative SY62 3-Deck Open at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2024, making its highly anticipated US premiere from October 30 to November 3, 2024.
Building upon the successful SY62 platform, the SY62 3-Deck Open features an open-sided third deck designed for entertaining, providing a versatile living space. Its striking hardtop structure offers 60 square meters of customizable area, perfect for anything from lounge seating and dining tables to gym equipment and even a Jacuzzi.
"The SY62 3-Deck is winning over boat owners, and this first Open version truly highlights the advantages of the extra space," said Fabrizio Iarrera, CEO of Silent Yachts. "With sleek lines and over 240 square meters of usable deck, this compact superyacht is an exceptional testament to electric sailing."
Ideal for warmer climates like Florida, the Open model's elegantly supported hardtop ensures nearly unobstructed 360-degree views. The ample shade provided allows for comfortable outdoor enjoyment, complemented by a three-stool wet bar, plush seating in weatherproof Sunbrella fabric, and versatile high-low tables that adapt from casual coffee breaks to formal dining settings.
This yacht redefines 'cockpit' with twin helm stations on the flybridge and in the saloon, while the spacious aft deck offers a social area with built-in lounging and dining options, and optional amenities like a grill and fridge for ultimate convenience. Steps leading to the hull skirts facilitate easy access to marina pontoons, while the teak-lined bathing platform doubles as a tender lift for a boat weighing up to 500kg.
Additional outdoor space is available on the forward lounge or sunbed area atop the master cabin, presenting unique perspectives and the option for sunbathing or lounging. The connection between the 50 square meter saloon and outdoor areas is seamless, thanks to sliding doors and ample counter space in the aft galley.
Silent Yachts' commitment to electric propulsion shines through with the SY62 3-Deck, featuring twin motors with up to 340kW output and a large battery bank of up to 286kWh. This catamaran delivers cruising speeds of 6-8 knots and the capacity for silent operation, thanks to the robust management of high-quality lithium-ion cells.
Equipped with a 16.8kW solar panel array, the yacht efficiently generates power, minimizing reliance on generators and enhancing the experience of overnighting at anchor in tranquility. Steve Bell, Vice Chairman of the Board, emphasizes the allure of the yacht's silent operation, which enhances the onboard lifestyle.
Owners have the option of choosing between a forward exit to a recessed lounge or a central master cabin spanning the hulls. This versatility offers a shaded seating area with stunning views or a private stateroom featuring an en-suite bathroom and ample storage.
The first SY62 3-Deck Open boasts contemporary interior styling with customizable finishes, combining cream leather, grey upholstery, and natural wood accents. With generous storage options, including 11 square meters of bow space, the yacht caters to various recreational needs, ensuring that everything from paddleboards to spare parts can be stowed effortlessly.
Silent-Yachts is producing the world’s first fully solar-sustainable oceangoing production catamaran yachts. They are powered exclusively by solar energy and capable of cruising up to 100 miles per day. In 2009, founders Heike and Michael Köhler, who have spent 6,000 days cruising more than 75,000 miles all around the world, launched the Solarwave 46, the first fully self-sufficient blue-water catamaran after years of testing solar-powered propulsion, and they have been building boats ever since.
