Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has finalized the sale of a 33.5-meter Nauta 110 to Australian businessman Marcus Blackmore, marking the fourth explorer yacht sold this year by the renowned Italian shipyard.
Vasco Buompensiere, CDM's co-founder and CEO, expressed his excitement about the sale, particularly highlighting Marcus Blackmore's background as both a visionary entrepreneur and an avid sailor. Blackmore, along with his wife Caroline, has a history of competing in various races with their three Southern Wind builds, all named Ammonite, and has explored remote archipelagoes in the Pacific Ocean.
The exterior and interior design of the newly sold yacht were crafted by Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Design. While specific details remain undisclosed, the custom layout promises spacious indoor lounging areas on both the main and upper decks, complemented by two al fresco dining spaces – one on the upper deck and another on the sun deck.
Buompensiere emphasized the significance of explorer-like qualities in yachts, especially in regions like Australia with vast, unspoiled coastlines. He noted that CDM's yachts provide a dependable platform for passionate owners eager to explore such pristine environments.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 engines, the Nauta 110 boasts an impressive range of over 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, with a maximum speed of 13 knots.
CdM's story begins in 2010. The facilities cover an overall surface of 16˙000 square meters, including 7˙000 sq. m of workshops and 1˙000 sq. m of docks. Since 2015, the shipyard has been the world’s leading builder of explorer yachts. Based in Ancona, Cantiere delle Marche builds yachts from 26m to 43m in length.
