Balk Shipyard was commissioned for an extensive refit of the 57-meter M/Y Dancing Hare, previously known as Lady Mona K, that was built by Amels in 1986 to a classic Bannenberg design.
Dancing Hare arrived at the Dutch yard’s premises on October 28, after a six-days cruise from the South of France. The yacht’s new owner, who bought her in September 2017, didn’t hesitate to have the superyacht refitted, taking into account that her last refit dated back to 1993. At the moment, the boat is being hauled out and shunted into the yard’s biggest refit hall.

In spite of her classic looks, the yacht has a number of features that indeed set the trend at the time of her launch, like, for example, the upper deck gym that could be opened for fresh air. Jon Bennenberg’s groundbreaking layout included symmetric and asymmetric spaces that were either inviting or creating intimate atmosphere.

The yacht was delivered by Amels in 1986 to a Saudi businessman, Emad Khashoggi. She is due to be relaunched between spring and summer of 2018.

“We are excited to have such an iconic yacht as Dancing Hare with us. We feel honored and proud to be selected and trusted to work on a revolutionary yacht and to get her in her finest shape possible with nowadays technology and luxury”, pointed out Balk Shipyard CEO, Daan Balk.
