Hylas Yachts has announced the important achievement: the Hylas H57 has won the prestigious Red Dot: Product Design Award 2022. This success comes after the world debut at the Newport International Boat Show 2021 for the H57.
The H57 is designed by Dixon Yacht Design to evolve the concept with a host of features that make it easy to sail with automated technology and a layout with more open social spaces to enjoy.
Red Dot Jury said: “The Hylas 57 convincingly marries form with functionality for an improved sailing experience on the high seas.”
The H57 is designed to be handled by a couple with a hull shape that offers speed and comfort offshore, with a solid-lead fin keel designed to reduce side slip while stiffening the hull to accommodate the large 152 sqm sail area.
Twin spade rudders are positioned well above the keel plane to optimize handling performance and provide a built-in backup if a rudder is compromised. Dedicated trim stations confine the sailing work of the H57 to specific deck areas. Electric winches and hydraulic furling systems add fingertip control to tending and reefing the sails. The main, reaching genoa and self-tacking jib all come with powered furling controls as standard.
A sleek hard-top has been incorporated, adding even more comfort and versatility to this bluewater sailing vessel. The hard-top compliments the builder’s goals of introducing updated technology, the most advanced construction techniques, and fresh design lines.
Bill Dixon’s design has a substantial 17-foot beam and makes the most of over five feet of freeboard to offer good headroom throughout the layout, including the aft owner’s cabin. Wraparound windows and no fewer than a dozen large portlights add to the airy, bright ambience belowdecks.
The three-stateroom layout onboard the Hylas H57 has been designed to create an easy-living space for a cruising couple who will live aboard or cruise extensively with family and friends. Being a semi-custom builder, Hylas offers the owner input on how the interior has been.
The owner’s cabin includes a queen berth on centerline accessible from both sides, as well as his- and-hers hanging lockers and drawers. The cabin is served by its own air- conditioning zone, ensuring owner comfort. Comfortable easy chairs positioned in the aft corners of the cabin make the most of the space and offer solitude from guests for reading or conducting business.
The Hylas H57 is constructed of FRP composite using isophthalic gelcoat, cored with closed-cell foam and infused with vinylester resin for a strong, lightweight build.

The 45 meter Bad Company Support is beginning a marlin fishing tour starting at Madeira, Portugal. It will include the Canary Islands, Cape Verde and other destinations along Africa’s west coast.In January the boat was sold and entered a four-month refit at Safe Harbor Lauderdale Marine Center, southern Florida. The modifications centered around the toy and tender storage, specifically the addition of a 10 meter sportfisher on the aft deck. Cradles were added and the layout of the deck was reconfigured to accommodate two tenders and JetSkis. The crane was modified and hatches were added to allow the sportfishing yacht to be easily launched and recovered. The exterior was finished with a coat of custom 'Bad Company gray' paint. The support yacht was formerly known as Joy Rider and was known as Pink Shadow when she was purchased by Hsieh in January.The Bad Company Support is one of ten vessels owned by Anthony Hsieh, the most recent addition to this fleet is Damen's 53 meter YS 53, the first hull in an innovative new series to be delivered next year.The other nine yachts in the fleet include the 44 meter Trinity's Bad Company – the largest sportfisher in the world – which has also emerged from a comprehensive refit at Safe Harbor Lauderdale Marine Center. The yacht will be based around South Florida and the Bahamas.The fleet also supports Hsieh’s charity “War Heroes on the Water”, which aids war veterans through sportfishing tournaments. In 2021, the charity raised $1.35 million to benefit combat-wounded veterans.Damen Yachting, a division within the Damen Shipyards Group, was created in 2019. Numarine has shared the interiors of the 37m explorer Chapter 3. Chapter 3 became the second hull of the series and delivered for an American client. She was sold by Denison Yachting. “The design features onboard surpass anything else in this class on the market today,” says Alex G.Clark, Numarine representative in Denison Yachting.At 37.16 meters in length, the crossover exterior styling of the 37XP series is by Can Yalman with naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini. The refined main saloon is furnished with elegant upholstered furniture, decorated with items with marine patterns. The dining area can accommodate 12 guests and features full height sliding glass windows. A media room with a large TV became one of the yacht's highlights. The yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests in six staterooms with a crew of seven. The twin CAT-MAN 800-hp engines provide a redline speed of 14.5 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 8 knots.She is scheduled for debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022, after that the yacht will go on to appear at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.Numarine, a European high-performance motor-yacht shipyard headquartered in Istanbul, offers a range of yachts from 19 to 45 meters.Credits: Numarine

The recently delivered 45m ISA Aria SF was spending her first season in the Mediterranean and caught fire off the coast of Formentera, Spain yesterday at 17.00 local time. After receiving a distress signal, two boats were sent to help, but their attempts to extinguish the flames were unsuccessful. Nine guests and seven crew members were evacuated from the ship. As far as is known, no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is not known.ISA GT 45 was launched in April 2022 with steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Her interior style was made by Luca Dini Design & Architecture, while her naval architecture was developed by Palumbo Superyachts technical team, the exterior design was made by Team for Design – Enrico Gobbi.The yacht is equipped with 2 CAT C32 ACERT engines of 1300 hp each reaching a maximum speed of 16 knots and cruising at 14.5 knots. Aria SF was going to have her world premiere at the next Cannes and Monaco 2022 boat shows. Southern Wind has shared the latest renderings of the shipyard's new 35 meter SW108 Hybrid sailing yacht. The first Southern Wind project to be conceived and engineered as hybrid from its origin and will open the world of green performance sailing. First images were revealed in the spring of 2021. The first hull is currently undergoing the final stages of the lamination process and is scheduled for delivery in 2023. The SW108 Hybrid is based on a versatile design platform that can be adapted to suit her owner’s expectations. The yacht was penned by Nauta Design and Farr Yacht Design.The SW108 Diesel Electric Hybrid propulsion system is designed in collaboration with BAE Systems, the diesel electric system is based on a combination of two highly efficient generators with a high-voltage lithium battery bank and electric propulsion motor. This system allows for a more efficient consumption of fossil fuels while achieving a lower level of harmful emissions.The deck and interior design can be fully customized. Both the owner’s cabin forward and aft configurations, feature three guest cabins amidships. This four guest cabin arrangement allows for a spacious and enjoyable L-shaped social area forward of the saloon that includes living and dining areas and a TV lounge. All guest cabins can be conceived as multifunctional to be used as an onboard studio with a day head, a gym/sauna or converted into a regular cabin.SW108 Hybrid can host a 5m tender.
