DutchCraft, a subsidiary of Dutch builder Zeelander Yachts, has revealed an eight-metre DutchCraft 25 tender, to be 100% electric and fully built of carbon fibre. The boat’s international premiere will take place at Boat Düsseldorf in January 2020.
With her modular design, Dutchcraft 25 is a multi-purpose tender. She can serve as a diving boat, sports fishing boat or even a family day cruiser. A practical and multifunctional boat with a colourful design, DC25 is very similar to the 17-metre DC56 model. The latter was well received during the recent Cannes Yachting Festival and got a nomination for “The European Power Boat of the Year 2020” award.

The vessel has quite impressive transforming capabilities. For example, soft benches with backs for a company of 12 people convert easily into a flat space for transportation of, for instance, a pair of jet skis. Furthermore, a hardtop above the centre console can be folded to make it more convenient to store the tender in a garage of a superyacht (with folded top, the vessel’s height makes 1.97 metres).
The authors of DC25 model paid close attention to landing and disembarking, since with her shallow draft of 0.82 metres, the boat can easily approach the paradise islands. For this purpose, there is a door in the nose, which becomes a gangway in the lowered form. The stern bulwark leans back and turns conveniently into a bathing platform.
Another feature that helps save space aboard DC25 is her compact electric transmission sitting low. Moreover, DC25 is said to come with complete absence of vibrations, almost no noise.
Koopmans added: “At DutchCraft, we believe electric propulsion will be key in a future that cares about ocean preservation. We are committed to investing in this positive movement, and the technology that we have developed for the DC25 is a step in the right direction.
Still, the tender will be capable to run for about 75 minutes at a speed of 32 knots, and for up to 6 hours at the leisurely 6 knots. Meanwhile, the hull form of the boat also contributes to her speed characteristics. Developed in-house by DutchCraft in-house, it has a "deep V" shape for on-water efficiency.
At present, the yard is also developing a limousine version of the model. It will feature a greater comfort and will be less vulnerable under different weather conditions.
The base price on DC25 starts from € 275,000.

Heesen Yachts has announced the passing of its founder, Frans Heesen, on April 23, 2025, in his hometown of Oss. He is survived by his wife Petra, children, and grandchildren.Frans Heesen’s leadership and talent for identifying and nurturing potential were fundamental to the success and growth of Heesen Yachts. Known for his visionary approach and Dutch courage, Heesen took bold steps that shaped the future of the shipyard.One of his most notable achievements was the decision to build the groundbreaking yacht Octopussy, despite significant risks. This project not only succeeded but also brought global recognition to Heesen Yachts.Throughout his career, Frans dedicated himself to creating a family-like atmosphere at the shipyard. Even after the company was sold, the family environment he established remained strong.
