Cantieri Magazzù is set to debut its new 17m walkaround models, the M-16 and MX-16, at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 10 to 15. This Sicilian shipyard has chosen this major international event to introduce its latest project, featuring a D-shape tube system in two propulsion configurations: the M-16 with a Volvo IPS system and the MX-16 with three 600 HP Mercury outboards.
M-16
The 16.7-meter walkaround models are designed for both performance and comfort. Below deck, they offer versatile layouts with two cabins and a dinette that can convert into two separate bathrooms, making them suitable for both day trips and long cruises. High-quality materials are used throughout, allowing for a personalized and inviting setting. The MX-16 also offers an optional third single crew cabin at the stern.
M-16
Technological advancements are a key feature of both models. The double-step hull design of the MX-16 reduces hydrodynamic drag, improving performance and fuel efficiency. The D-shape tubes incorporate an anti-shock system with a high-performance closed-cell core and reinforced buoyancy areas, enhancing safety and stability. The exterior is covered with durable materials, including Hypalon Neoprene Orca® fabric.
The MX-16's triple 600 HP Mercury engines provide a combined 1,800 HP, allowing for a top speed of 50 knots. One notable design element is the integration of the outboard engines into the stern sunpad, which increases the sunbathing area while maintaining a spacious swim platform. This configuration also enhances safety by shielding bathers from the engines and propellers.
M-16
Claudio Magazzù, a member of the second generation leading the company, expressed confidence in the new models, stating, "We believe this new model will meet the expectations of yachting enthusiasts and our customers by offering a first-class onboard experience. The MX-16 represents not only the evolution of the maxi-rib category but also our ongoing commitment to excellence and our passion for the sea."
The Cannes Yachting Festival will serve as the launch platform for these innovative new models.
M-16
To meet the various needs of different owners, this innovative 55-foot walkaround is also available in the M-16 version with a Volvo Penta IPS 800 diesel propulsion system, satisfying power and efficiency requirements and improving range for long-distance cruises, but without sacrificing design quality and Cantieri Magazzù’s classic detailing.
Cantieri Magazzù works actively to protect the marine environment. The whole range of walkarounds, in both versions, has been designed with a special focus on sustainability, using environment-friendly materials and low-impact construction techniques. The engines comply with emissions regulations, ensuring environment-friendly performance.
M-16
After their debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the M-16 and MX-16 will be presented to the Italian public at the Genoa Boat Show from 19 to 24 September 2024.
