The 35th Palm Beach International Boat Show, running from March 25 to 28, will be Azimut Yachts’ first official trade fair in 2021 after the private Pompano Beach event organised by the shipyard last February in partnership with MarineMax.
The brand’s presence at the boat show confirms the great strategic importance of the overseas market, as is also demonstrated by the incredible attendance figures reported at the private boat show organised by the two companies last month in Pompano Beach.

Atlantis 45

Making its international debut at Palm Beach is the Azimut Atlantis 45, equipped with Volvo Penta’s new assisted docking system. The sporty coupe has exterior styling and interior decor by Neo Design. Atlantis 45 is one of the first yachts to be installed with the new system developed by Volvo Penta. The assisted docking system gives the captain optimal control over the boat when manoeuvring, making anchoring operations easier and more intuitive by automatically compensating for variables like the wind and currents, therefore ensuring excellent directional stability. Test sessions will also be available during the event.

Alongside the 45-footer will be the Magellano 25 Metri, symbolising Azimut Yacht’s ability to propose new design concepts and innovative technology. After its international debut in Portofino and official presentation at the 2020 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, this model continues to attract a high level of attention from the American public.

Magellano 25 Metri

At the event, Azimut is also showing the Magellano 66, with exterior styling and a concept by Cor D. Rover, as well as the S6 in the brand’s sport Collection par excellence, with exterior styling and a concept by Stefano Righini and interior design by Francesco Guida, exhibited here in its Sportfly version, and finally two models from the Flybridge Collection, the 55 and the 72. The first was created by top designers Righini and Salvagni, while the second has interiors by Galeazzi and exterior styling by Righini.

The Palm Beach International Boat Show therefore presents Azimut Yachts with a new opportunity to show how its customer-centric approach and focus on the product are two key factors in the company’s growth strategy in an extremely competitive and important market like the Americas, particularly the United States, which acts as a driver for the entire industry.

Azimut Yachts appeared in 1969, when the young university student Paolo Vitelli founded Azimut Srl and began chartering sailing boats. In 1970 some prestigious yachting brands appointed the company to distribute their boats in Italy. Azimut quickly expanded its operations: apart from distribution, it began designing new yachts. In a joint venture with Amerglass, it designed the AZ 43’ Bali, a mass-produced fibreglass boat.
The company gradually expanded its range, focussing on the lower end of the market with the launch of the AZ 32’ Targa in 1977, the “Ford T” of the boat world, as well as the upper end (with the memorable début of the Azimut 105’ Failaka in 1982, the biggest mass-produced fibreglass yacht at the time). In 1985, Azimut acquired Benetti. From the late nineties onwards, Azimut went on to become the foremost builder of yachts and megayachts.
