Designer Kurt Merki Jr has unveiled the new nature-loaded yacht. The concept named Symbiosis is made in collaboration with Axel Massmann, founder of green interior specialist company yacht-green, and Glenn Dalby, who has been the captain on 126 meter Octopus.

According to the designer, the concept ‘meant to be a revolution in special green features in yacht design’. The large tree, which can be selected by the future owner, spreads across two decks with a ‘skyhole’ connecting to ‘the green deck’ above. Another big green multipurpose area covering more than 100 sq. m and can be used as a playground, picnic area, workout area or a free-running area.

Automated irrigation systems provide accurate daily water and fertilizer intake and a specially trained gardener will be required on board. “We integrate automated watering & fertilizing systems, climate & light control as well as specially designed cabinets at the conceptual then design and engineering development stages resulting in a practical, manageable solution. All suggested ideas are certainly realistic,” says green expert Axel Massmann.

The yacht will also feature ‘The Sanctum’, where special herbs, spices and vegetables can be cultivated.
