Tankoa Yachts is delighted to announce that the new 72-metre S701 motor yacht Solo, designed by Francesco Paszkowski and due to launch at the end of July, will make her international debut at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show from 26-29 September.

Although reminiscent of the 69-meter Suerte (S693), Solo is 3 m longer with a larger volume at 1,600+ GRT. Other key differences include underwater exhausts allowing for a substantial gain of volume on all decks and a larger winter garden; larger aft deck with 6-meter transversal pool, glass bulwarks sections for unobstructed sea views; and a wide body upper deck allowing for an oversized panoramic salon. The longer waterline also provides for a higher top speed in excess of 17 knots.

The Dream Mansion

Solo has accommodations for 12 guests in six cabins, including the master suite on the private owner's deck, a VIP suite, four doubles, two of them convertible into twins. NB, the hair dressing/massage room and the owner’s study can also be converted into additional cabins as they are both equipped with an en-suite bathroom. The Vip and Guest cabins are all on the main deck with astonishing sea views thanks to large windows.

The beach club is a spacious and welcoming space with sofa, bar, TV, oversized glass walled gym with fold-out terrace, bathroom, sauna (also fitted with its own fold-out terrace) and hammam.

The upper deck houses the wheelhouse with radio room, captain’s cabin, and a hair dressing/massage room. The aft section features an enormous observation lounge/salon with floor-to-ceiling windows, 90” 4K QLED TV screen, baby grand piano, bar and fireplace.

The fully private owner’s deck has direct access from the touch-and-go helideck aft (rated at 4.5 tons for an Augusta 109 or most twin turbine helicopters). This exterior deck is also equipped with its own Jacuzzi, bar, salon, breakfast corner and day head with shower.

Inside, the owner’s apartment features an owner’s study/media room. The island bed is surrounded by full-height windows for 180° views. With direct access to two intimate side exterior saloon, shaded sun pads and the Jacuzzi.

Tenders and toys storages are split between the foredeck and a twin side-loading garage, providing room for two 7.5m tenders, rescue boat and PWCs. The under lower deck is devoted to laundry room, pump room, storage, fridge and freezer, garbage treatment and technical spaces.

A word from the owner's rep

Solo is destined for charter and the owner’s brief called for a circulation plan that allowed the crew to work completely independently from the owner and guest areas for maximum privacy. He further requested a décor that is modern, elegant and warm. Both the GA and décor are the result of a collaborative effort by Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini.

Acting as build engineer and owner’s representative, Albert McIlroy has monitored the construction process throughout:

“I can now really feel the shipyard is truly backed up by the experience of Tankoa’s managers and technical office and the guys are raising the bar of quality and engineering yacht after yacht,” says McIlroy, who has built a number of yachts in North European shipyards. “Edoardo Ratto, the General Manager, is also deeply involved in bringing the latest technologies on board and is really giving me a hand with this. Even more than Tankoa’s previous projects, I feel that everything is organized and timed to stick to contractual delivery schedules. Time management and operation processes are paramount for the team here and there is no room for improvisation, despite the great deal of flexibility they provide when needed. As I tell my colleagues, working with Tankoa is like being in northern Europe, but you also have the world’s best cuisine!”

On the future of Solo

Sales and Marketing Director of Tankoa and board member Michel Karsenti recently commented on the present and the future of Solo: “The owner is a truly experienced boat lover. This is his second build with Tankoa and his wish is now to put Solo on the market for sale and build a new Tankoa, probably larger. It is surely rewarding for all of us at Tankoa to see a client who basically has very little time to enjoy his boat considering his hectic business life but enjoys the construction and creation process so much.

As much as we would like to see the client enjoy his boat, we are truly happy to have developed such trustful relationship with such knowledgeable client. Solo will be exhibited in Monaco and will surely sale quickly as she is an exceptional yacht that will demonstrate that Tankoa is the alternative to Northern European shipyard to build a high-quality yacht at reasonable cost and extreme flexibility.

But overall, the most amazing factor between his previous yacht, Suerte and the new one, Solo, is the countless number of technical details that have been improved. The interior is also very different with all seats and tables by Fendi Casa. I am pretty sure Solo, like Vertige, will have a big impact on the market at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show.”

75m Innovative Concept Project Velor Presented by Nauta Design
Milan-based naval architecture firm Nauta Design has unveiled Project Velor, a 75-meter superyacht concept featuring unconventional layout solutions and diesel-electric propulsion. The 1,700GT design challenges traditional superyacht architecture through several innovative features. The concept utilizes a four-generator hybrid system (two 1,000kW and two 500kW units) to power its propulsion. A key technical innovation involves relocating the engine room to the under-lower deck, a solution developed in collaboration with naval engineer Francesco Rogantin of Studio Names. This configuration creates additional usable space throughout the vessel's four decks while maintaining conventional five-deck volume."One of the defining qualities of Project Velor is its flexibility," stated Guido Valtorta, Director at Nauta Design. "Every element suits the many ways owners use their yachts – whether for family time, entertaining, or quiet escape."The design incorporates a transformable beach club area with retractable glass walls that can convert between enclosed spa and open waterfront lounge configurations. The sun deck features a multi-purpose pool area adaptable for various uses, while the foredeck lounge offers convertible private/social spaces. A slatted brise-soleil shading system creates dynamic light patterns across exterior decks.Martino Majno, Nauta Design Director, explained: "This flexible outdoor space is made possible by confining the single tier engine room to the under-lower deck." The arrangement results in continuous interior-exterior circulation via architectural staircases and minimized level divisions.Project Velor's aesthetic combines curved and angular forms with extensive teak surfaces and horizontal lines. The design maximizes glazing for visual connection to the sea while maintaining structural integrity. Though specific accommodation details remain undisclosed, renderings suggest capacity for 12+ guests across multiple cabin configurations. The concept targets owners prioritizing spatial efficiency and innovative layouts over maximum length. Nauta estimates the design could be built within 36 months at select Northern European shipyards specializing in advanced composite construction. No construction contract has been announced for the concept, which currently exists as a design study.Technical highlights include optimized deck heights, strategic staircase placement, and elimination of unnecessary barriers between spaces. The design emphasizes multifunctional areas serving specific purposes – from social interaction to wellness and relaxation zones – without redundant spaces.Nauta's presentation materials describe Project Velor as embodying Mediterranean design principles through its blend of indoor/outdoor living spaces and connection to marine environments. The studio has been developing the single-tier engine room solution for approximately eight years, with this project representing its most comprehensive application to date.Credits: Nauta Design

Sacs and Kiton Unveil Exclusive Strider 13 KNT x Sacs Collaboration
Sacs and Kiton have unveiled their collaborative project, the Strider 13 KNT x Sacs, at the summer edition of Pitti Uomo 2025. The partnership combines SACS’ nautical expertise with Kiton’s sartorial craftsmanship through the KNT - Kiton New Textures project. The result is a unique version of the Strider 13, Sacs’ iconic and most successful model. The vessel measures 13.50 meters in length and is powered by three 400-hp Mercury Verado V10 engines. The design, created by renowned international yacht designer Christian Grande, features elegant and bold aesthetics that reflect the shared values of both brands.Nicola Antonelli, Sacs Tecnorib CMO, commented: “This collaboration stems from a natural convergence between two Italian examples of excellence. On the one hand, the innovative approach of Sacs, which has always reinterpreted boating with vision and courage. On the other, the ability of Kiton – through KNT – to combine the casual and sporty attitude of Strider 13 with an elegance provided by colours, details and fabrics, which further embellish the design.”The onboard design incorporates Kiton’s visual codes, featuring solid teak with cream insets lining the deck, KNT-designed tubes, and cushions with sophisticated color contrasts. Distinctive Etna red varnished details complement the interiors in bleached oak, Nubuk upholstery, and Kiton furniture and fittings. The vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including an integrated joystick system, dual Raymarine screens with augmented reality, and a sophisticated lighting package. This combination aims to provide an exclusive and immersive sailing experience.Antonio De Matteis, Kiton Managing Director, stated: “At a time when excellence can no longer be confined to the product alone, we felt the need to expand our presence, going beyond the boundaries of the wardrobe. This is not a branding exercise, but a choice fully consistent with the brand identity. We follow our customers along the natural rhythm of their summer journey, from sea to land, accompanying them to the places they live in and in the time they decide to dedicate to themselves.”Christian Grande added: “It was a challenging exercise to combine Strider’s expression of power at sea with Kiton’s more classic style. I wanted to condense all the stylistic contents of the KNT marine collection in a unique edition of the Strider 13 KNT x Sacs, from the alternating sand colours that spill over onto the pure white of this refined maxi-Rib to the material details of the collection itself.”Sacs Tecnorib, formed in 2021 through the integration of Sacs and Tecnorib, has a history dating back to 1989 when Sacs introduced high-end Maxi-Ribs with the Strider range. Tecnorib, founded in 2005 under a licensing agreement with Pirelli, expanded significantly in 2019 with the introduction of the Pirelli Speedboats range.Credits: Sacs, Kiton
