Northrop & Johnson announced the successful sale of the exquisite Amels 180 superyacht, Driftwood. The yacht was represented by brokers Kevin Merrigan and Kristen Klein, with a final asking price of USD39,000,000. Regarded as one of the finest Amels 180 yachts ever constructed, Driftwood epitomizes elegance and style.
Launched in 2017, Driftwood seamlessly blends high-end luxury with adventure and style. Designed by the renowned Remi Tessier, its interior embodies a chic beach house vibe, featuring bleached teak finishes, serene sand tones, and expansive windows that bathe the space in natural light. The calming atmosphere is beautifully complemented by tasteful color accents and sophisticated ambient lighting, creating a warm and inviting environment throughout.
Notable features of Driftwood include a spacious sundeck equipped with a large hot tub, sunpads, a backlit bar, and an outdoor cinema, making it an ideal setting for al fresco entertainment. The yacht offers a variety of balconies, including a fold-down balcony in the master suite and a midships balcony that enhances the connection with the sea.
Accommodating up to 12 guests, the master suite serves as a private retreat complete with an office, lounge area, walk-in wardrobe, and breathtaking sea views. The additional cabins consist of two double and two twin rooms, which can be transformed into VIP accommodations, with the twin rooms also featuring Pullman beds.
Recently undergoing comprehensive refits, Driftwood is primed for her next adventure. Upgrades completed in 2022 included a full exterior paint job, a 5-year survey, new exterior cushions, awnings, and Onyx tables. Interior enhancements made in 2024 included new woven carpets, cushion fabrics, and upgraded fresh water pipework. Extensive maintenance has also been performed on her generators, main engines, stabilizers, and water tanks, ensuring her readiness for upcoming voyages.
Designed by Tim Heywood, Driftwood is perfect for adventure, offering ample toy storage and a spacious swim platform ideal for activities such as surfing, kiting, and various water sports. The entire exterior layout encourages al fresco enjoyment, whether savoring a glass of champagne at the sundeck bar or enjoying more intimate evenings around the upper deck firepit tables.
Damen Yachting, a division within the Damen Shipyards Group, was created in 2019. The division combines the pedigree and heritage of Amels yachts with a growing portfolio of SeaXplorer yachts and Yacht Support vessels.
