After 11 years, 57 countries and two circumnavigations, Pendennis has announced the arrival home of S/Y Hemisphere for the winter 22/23 period. Launched by Pendennis in 2011, Hemisphere remains the largest privately owned sailing catamaran in the world. An incredibly popular charter vessel, Hemisphere has been continuously on the move around the globe since her departure from the UK – visiting some of the best diving locations in the world.

Her busy six month winter refit will encompass a full repaint programme and large scale engineering works – including a generator replacement and the stripping down and servicing of her drive train. Following her refit Hemisphere will leave the yard in spring 2023 and will be available for charter once again through Burgess.

In addition to the arrival of Hemisphere the rest of Pendennis’ facility is a hive of activity. Pendennis currently has three long term projects in our halls and dry dock including the new construction of a 34.8m exploration vessel Project Fox and two extensive multi-year motor yacht refits – motor yacht Seawolf and a 70m expedition vessel.

Pendennis Shipyard is one of the world's leading custom superyacht builders and refit shipyards and has become one of Cornwall's most important employers with over 430 highly skilled tradespeople based at the 14-acre prime waterfront location in Falmouth, UK. In the latter part of 2018 Pendennis secured a majority share hold in Vilanova Grand Marina, a 48 berth facility with adjacent land available for further development. The investment in Vilanova is yet another milestone in Pendennis’ international growth and offering to its global client base.
