Cantu Design, the multidisciplinary studio based in Seattle, USA and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, presented a 100m superyacht concept called CD100. The yacht will be made from aluminium and steel and designed for a cinema loving client.

The design of the vessel is inspired by Art Deco. “The design of this project was heavily influenced by my experience working under Glade Johnson on Attessa IV. The design brief required a yacht that the owner could entertain guests on at various film events around the world such as the Cannes Film Festival,” says John Cantu, founder and principal designer of the studio. The layout allows to have a cinema at the aft of the upper deck as well as hosting private parties.

CD100 can accommodate up to 16 guests and 30 members of crew. The owner’s suite is located at the owners deck, which includes a hot tub with sunbeds and helipad.

The main deck aft features a swimming pool with al fresco seating. The area can be used as a dancefloor or extension of the pool deck. To maintain privacy, these platforms can be lowered after launching without losing the ocean views protection from the elements. Other exciting features are the library, the second swimming pool, the spa with a gym, massage room, hammam, sauna, a hairdressing salon and a diving room.

The vessel has a range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13.5 knots and a top speed of 17 knots.
