The Italian Sea Group has announced that the Artexplorer Perini Navi catamaran has secured victories in the "Sailing Yachts over 40m" and "Deck Design" categories at the prestigious International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2024, presented by Design et Al. The awards, now in their 15th edition, recognize excellence in architecture, style, and design within the yachting, aviation, and hospitality industries.The awards ceremony took place on Friday, 31 May, at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes. Industry experts from around the globe served as the jury, evaluating a wide range of entries.Giovanni Costantino, Founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group, commented on the achievement, stating, “The heart, passion, mind, competence, expert hands, and sacrifice are the elements that distinguish our wonderful team and that allow us to achieve these significant results. Benetti Hosts Second Legal Symposium on Yacht Industry Contracts and Compliance
Benetti has successfully concluded its second Legal Symposium, a two-day event that brought together lawyers from top international law firms and the shipyard’s in-house legal team to discuss key legal issues in the boatbuilding industry. Held on June 3 and 4 at various locations in Viareggio, the symposium focused on recent developments in contracts and international compliance.The event, attended by over 50 lawyers, took place at Hotel Plaza De Russie, Showroom Franchi Umberto Marmi, Cava Bettogli, and Benetti’s Viareggio shipyard. It included a central legal discussion where participants debated pressing issues in the yachting world. Topics covered included specific clauses in yacht construction contracts, the implementation of compliance procedures such as Anti Money Laundering (AML) in response to stricter international regulations, and the sustainability of yacht building.Georgia Agù, Group General Counsel at Azimut|BenettiGeorgia Agù, Group General Counsel at Azimut|Benetti, commented on the symposium’s success, stating, “This initiative is an opportunity to foster collaboration and sharing of knowledge between international law experts in our industry. SD112 Zulu3 Listed for Sale
Sanlorenzo Yachts UK has listed the 34-meter Sanlorenzo SD112 Zulu3 for sale with Nick Hatfield. Built in 2017, Zulu3 is part of Sanlorenzo’s semi-displacement series and is available for immediate cruising in the Mediterranean.Nick Hatfield highlights the yacht's well-maintained condition, noting, "Having viewed many yachts over the years, it’s rare to step onboard a yacht and believe it is much younger than the build year. But Zulu3 is indeed such a yacht." Zulu3 is currently under its second ownership, purchased in 2018.Zulu3 offers a generous volume of 266 GT and can accommodate eight guests across four cabins, including an owner’s suite on the main deck, a VIP stateroom, and two additional guest cabins on the lower deck. Each cabin features double beds, ample wardrobe space, a Loewe television with ceiling-mounted speakers, a vanity unit, and an ensuite bathroom with marbled showers and teak flooring. The yacht also has accommodation for five to six crew members in three cabins, including a separate cabin for the captain.The interior of Zulu3 is designed to maximize natural light with expansive windows. The main saloon includes a bar area with a fridge and ice maker, a large L-shaped sofa, glass coffee tables, and two cube poufs. The dining area features a sizable glass dining table for 10 and a forward bulkhead in silk georgette marble, ready for a piece of art.The upper deck saloon and exterior areas provide additional entertainment spaces, including a fully equipped bar, dining, sunbathing, and relaxation areas. Key features include a bar area on the flybridge with four stools, a fridge, and an ice maker, as well as an Aquasol hot tub with surrounding seating.Zulu3 comes with a collection of water toys and onboard entertainment, including a Williams 445 diesel jet tender, Seabobs, inflatable SUPs, an inflatable chair, and a Nautibouy Party Bana inflatable platform.Nick Hatfield emphasizes the yacht's readiness for new ownership, "Extremely well specified at build, and a specification which has only been added to during this ownership, this incredible yacht is ready for her new owner to explore far and wide. And, as the current owner is now taking a break from yachting, all bedding, towels, tableware, and spares are included with the sale of the yacht, making it a turnkey solution to cruising this summer."Powered by twin MTU 10V2000 M72 - 1224HP engines, Zulu3 has a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum speed of 16 knots, and an economical cruising speed of 10 knots. Currently lying in Corfu, Zulu3 is listed for sale at EUR7,750,000 VAT paid, with the option for the crew to continue with the new owner.Sanlorenzo was founded in 1958 in Viareggio by yacht builder Gionvanni Jannetti. Columbus Yachts has announced the launch of M/Y Frette, the second 43-meter unit of its new Atlantique line. Named after the renowned Italian craftsmanship brand Frette, the vessel features Frette Bespoke linens, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication.Frette boasts a steel hull combined with an aluminium superstructure, with a maximum beam of 9.05 meters and a tonnage of approximately 460 GT. The yacht’s design, by the Hot Lab studio, offers an interior layout tailored to the owner's needs and combines sophisticated materials in a fluid, aesthetically pleasing form. The naval engineering was a collaboration between Columbus Yachts and Hydro Tec studio.The exterior design of the Atlantique 43m line is characterized by smooth, seamless shapes that evoke a nutshell or an artfully carved stone, blending elements of both motor yachts and classic sailing boats. This streamlined design confers a natural elegance and enhances the yacht's functional and aesthetic appeal.Frette features large outdoor areas that seamlessly integrate with spacious indoor environments, ensuring total contact with the surrounding landscape. The yacht’s "sailing-type" stern is a distinctive feature, highlighted by a 5-meter-long central swimming pool situated just 50 cm above sea level. This design choice, along with the addition of lateral folding side wings, enhances the sense of direct contact with the water.Accommodation on Frette includes five double cabins, three twin cabins, and two VIP cabins that can be combined to form a VVIP suite, all equipped with private bathrooms. The lower deck also houses crew quarters, including three double cabins, a crew mess, and laundry facilities. The yacht is equipped with a 5.5m tender stored at the stern and a garage on the starboard side. The main deck forward accommodates a second tender (rescue boat) and two jet skis.Powered by two 970kW Cat C32 Acert engines, Frette can reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14.5 knots. This model will be on display at the Fall 2024 Cannes and Monaco Boat Shows.Columbus Yachts was established in 2008. Sirena 42M Superyacht Begins to Take Shape
Sirena Yachts has made significant strides in constructing its first superyacht, the Sirena 42M, with the first hull sections already welded and ready for assembly. The innovative 42-meter superyacht, designed by Luca Vallebona with interior design by Hot Lab and naval architecture by Van Oossanen, is set for delivery in 2026.The construction is taking place at Sirena's superyacht facility in Altınova Yalova, near Bursa, Turkey. The aluminium superstructure is scheduled to be joined in the coming months, with outfitting beginning early next year.The Sirena 42M will feature four guest cabins and a customizable master suite, offering luxurious accommodations. The owner's suite, which can be positioned according to the client's preference, provides a unique patio terrace on the foredeck, complete with a hot tub and private views."A plumb bow, high bulwarks, and a gentle curve to the shearline will make Sirena 42M an instant head-turner," said Cagin Genc, CEO of Sirena Yachts.The yacht's design aims to combine customization options with a standard construction approach to expedite delivery. Social areas on the yacht include an extended living area, an aft salon, a games room or studio, a dining area, a pool on the aft deck, and a beach club. The open flybridge and drop-down bulwarks are designed to appeal to a new generation of yacht owners.Currently, over 30 people are working on the build, and progress is on schedule. The hull and superstructure are expected to be joined by September, with the final metal work completed early next year."Due to the complexity of the build, we decided to employ an external surveyor to monitor progress and control quality – in addition to the Class Society," added Genc. "I am delighted to report that we are exactly where we wanted to be at this stage of the build – precisely on schedule and working to a very high standard of finish."The Sirena 42M is being built on spec and is listed for sale through Northrop and Johnson, with an asking price of €23.95 million.Sirena Yachts is a Turkish yacht brand.
