The Italian Sea Group Finalizes Sale of Viareggio Shipyard
The Italian Sea Group S.p.A. (TISG), a global player in luxury yachting, has finalized the sale of its Viareggio shipyard to Next Yacht Group for €21 million. The shipyard was acquired as part of the Perini Navi acquisition in 2021.Due to its structural characteristics, the Viareggio shipyard was deemed unsuitable for the production of yachts over 50 meters, which is TISG’s primary focus. This segment accounts for approximately 90% of the company's current order book. According to Boat International’s ranking, TISG is the leading player in Italy and the third globally in this size range.The disposal of the Viareggio shipyard is part of TISG's strategic plan to streamline operations and focus on custom-made mega and giga-yachts. In 2023, TISG also sold a building previously dedicated to Perini Navi offices for €12 million. With the recent sale of the shipyard, the total value of Perini Navi assets disposed by TISG amounts to €33 million.Giovanni Costantino, Founder and CEO of TISG, expressed satisfaction with the transaction, highlighting its alignment with the company’s strategy to concentrate on large custom yachts. Mishi 88: Balancing Safety and Comfort
Mishi Yachts introduces the 27-meter Mishi 88, a sailing yacht designed to offer luxury and safety. Fully certified by RINA, this yacht aims to attract experienced owners from both sailing and motoring backgrounds.The Mishi 88 features a spacious cockpit that can accommodate 12 or more guests, with deep sofas and adjustable tables under a hard-top. The yacht's sailing functions are concentrated aft with push-button sail controls and four electric winches positioned away from the social area.The foredeck serves as a relaxation area with cushions and folding tables, while the oversized bathing platform at the stern offers easy access to the water and a large storage space for a tender and water toys.Founder and chairman Şakir Yılmaztürk emphasized the yacht’s design for entertainment and comfort, with protected cockpit space and versatile deck areas. The yacht is designed to be both safe and enjoyable to sail.The interior, designed by Cristiano Gatto, spans nearly 380 square meters and features seating for 12 guests, alcoves for artwork, and large windows for natural light. The well-equipped galley is open to the saloon but can be closed for crewed operation. Accommodation includes a master suite, two twin/double cabins, a midships cabin with bunks, and crew quarters, all ensuite.Built by Yonca shipyard, known for high-performance tactical vessels, the Mishi 88 features a carbon composite hull, deck, and superstructure. The yacht achieves sailing speeds of up to 10 knots and a maximum speed of 11.5 knots under power. With a cruising speed of 8 knots, it offers a range of over 1,000 nautical miles.The Mishi 88 combines Yonca’s expertise in composite construction with a luxurious and functional design, promising an appealing option for discerning yacht owners.The Mishi 88 specifications include an overall length of 88 feet (26.82 meters), a waterline length of 81 feet 5 inches (24.82 meters), a beam of 20 feet 3 inches (6.20 meters), and a draft of 10 feet 6 inches (3.20 meters). Heesen Yachts Christens 50m ALP
Heesen Yachts has announced the christening and delivery of the 50-meter motor yacht ALP (YN 20350) in Hellevoetsluis, South Holland. ALP recently completed rigorous sea trials in the North Sea and is preparing for her maiden voyage.ALP, part of Heesen's 50-meter semi-displacement series, features exterior design by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and interior design by Cristiano Gatto Design. She is built with a below 500GT volume and a top speed of 23 knots, with a 2.1-metre draft suitable for cruising in the Bahamas. Mark Cavendish, Heesen’s CCO, emphasized the significance of the christening tradition, highlighting the strong collaboration with Jim Evans and his team at Superyachts Monaco.ALP's design focuses on combining fast cruising, comfort, and luxury. The yacht's aluminium construction, precise engineering, and weight calculation contribute to her performance. Heesen is noted for its in-house aluminium hull construction, requiring a high level of technical skill and precision.The interior, designed by Cristiano Gatto's team, spans almost 380 square meters, providing a luxurious space for relaxation. Heesen Interiors in Winterswijk played a key role in customizing the interior furniture to the owner's specifications.Outdoor spaces on ALP include an expansive sundeck with a whirlpool, bar, dining area, and forward seating area. The wheelhouse deck aft terrace is designed for al fresco dining, seamlessly connected to the sky lounge via sliding doors. The main deck aft features raised sun pads and a bar, enhancing guest privacy and allowing for a full-height beach club below.ALP's shallow draft of 2.1 meters makes her ideal for exploring the Bahamas, while her 50-meter length allows access to Mediterranean ports such as Portofino and Saint Tropez.ALP has departed the Netherlands and is en route to the Mediterranean for her maiden voyage.Heesen Yachts is a Dutch ship building company that specializes in custom-built superyachts in aluminum and steel from 30m to 70m in size. Arcadia Yachts' latest model, the A96, has been named Best Motoryacht of the Year in the Robb Report's "Best of the Best 2024" awards. The Robb Report, a US lifestyle magazine, is highly regarded in the international yachting industry and other luxury sectors.The A96 stands out for its design, which emphasizes holistic wellbeing and a connection with nature. The interior, designed by Igor Lobanov, features sleek lines and dark lacquered surfaces inspired by Art Deco. The jury was impressed by the yacht's spacious living areas, enabled by its 24-foot beam, and its design that encourages outdoor living in comfort.Arcadia Yachts' CEO Ugo Pellegrino noted that the award recognizes the A96's ability to meet the desires of modern yacht owners seeking total wellbeing. Pellegrino highlighted the yacht's design features, including large water-level terraces, a maneuverable propulsion system, and a top speed of 23-24 knots, which draw from the strengths of both the Sherpa and A lines. Launch of Custom Line's First All-Aluminium 50m Superyacht
Custom Line has launched its first all-aluminium 50-meter superyacht, marking a significant milestone for the brand. The new flagship, Custom Line 50 M/Y Asante, made its debut at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona on June 8. The launch was celebrated with a private ceremony attended by the owner's family, shipyard management, and employees.Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi highlighted the innovative aspects of the new yacht. "The new Custom Line 50 represents cutting-edge research and innovation in both style and materials. Aluminium offers significant performance and fuel consumption benefits," he said. The Custom Line 50 opens a new market segment for the brand, with its design focusing on maximizing light and water exposure through detailed studies of the yacht's volumes and spaces.The 50-meter yacht, built entirely from aluminium, features a displacement hull under 499 GT, a length of 49.94 meters, and a beam of 9.60 meters. The project is a collaboration between the Product Strategy Department led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Superyachts Division Engineering team. Filippo Salvetti designed the exterior, while ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel crafted the interiors, blending marine tradition with contemporary design.Brokerage house Performance Boats USA, LLC represented the owner in the project. The yacht spans four decks, with the master suite located forward on the upper deck, offering a 180-degree view and direct access to a private terrace with a lounge area and sunpad. The yacht also features four VIP cabins on the lower deck, accommodating a total of 12 guests and 9 crew members, including the captain.Asante emphasizes on-board liveability and comfort. The yacht’s design enhances the connection between interior and exterior spaces, particularly in the main and upper deck lounges, which feature large floor-to-ceiling windows.
