Valerio Rivellini Designs Iceman, the New Explorer Tender from Cantiere Delle Marche
Renowned designer Valerio Rivellini has been tapped by Cantiere delle Marche to create Iceman, a pioneering Explorer Tender set to complement the Flexplorer 146. Crafted as an essential support vessel for the yacht designed to navigate diverse latitudes, Iceman boasts a 10-meter aluminum hull paired with a carbon fiber superstructure. Uniquely stored in the stern of the mother vessel, it ingeniously houses a secondary 4-meter tender on its own stern, optimizing spatial efficiency on the Flexplorer’s main deck. Rivellini's design emphasizes versatility, structural robustness, and lightweight features, making Iceman the go-to Explorer Tender for operations across various latitudes.Iceman is 9.55 meters long and 3 meters in the beam, and with a draught of just 50 centimeters it can access even very shallow coastal waters. It has a displacement of 4 tonnes, can carry 10 passengers and is powered by a 370 HP Yanmar engine. In addition to the second tender, Iceman stows all the water toys available to guests on the Flexplorer 146: two seabobs, two six-meter canoes and four super-innovative Aerofoils, as well as fishing gear and diving equipment (including six cylinders).CDM's story begins in 2010. The facilities cover an overall surface of 16˙000 square meters, including 7˙000 sq. m of workshops and 1˙000 sq. m of docks. When at anchor, collapsible bulwarks transform the area into an expansive beach club spanning over 135 square meters. Onboard amenities include a gym, sauna, diving center, and provisions for a rescue boat and jet skis on the upper deck.Accommodations comprise two owner's cabins on the main and upper decks, with the latter featuring an adjoining single cabin. The lower deck houses four additional staterooms, while the crew quarters comfortably accommodate a staff of six.Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines, Maverick achieves a top speed of 14 knots and boasts a transatlantic range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles. Zero-speed stabilizers enhance onboard comfort.CdM CEO and sales director Vasco Buonpensiere emphasizes the unique flexibility inherent in the three Flexplorer 146s under construction.
